Hey look it wasn’t a great performance, but it WAS an improvement.. 21:48 - Feb 8 with 1066 viewsunstableblue

… on Saturday

We had two 10mins spell when we got it down, moved the with more intensity and created chances and looked dangerous

Yes Bonne was disappointing and should have had 2, and of course Doncaster were awful

But it was a few steps forward from the Gills performance and that’s progress and that’s all we want

I thought Thompson really grew into the game and Bakinson did improve

Chaplin was great at times, our back three and Walton were generally good

And it’s 3 points and some brilliant results around the division

We go to MK with a real chance and a retuning captain who will give us much needed drive

As I said earlier wins breed far more confidence than playing good football and not winning.

It's a strange situation really

We are winning. That if course is great

The performances aren't amazing and players look a bit lost.. but that's most likely down to 4-5 changes a game.

It's like we need a stable side for it to start looking better.
But then would that result in the losses.

Who knows.

3 points. And still 6 points off play offs after what 6 wins? Crazy

a niche perspective

Not great? Donny had no shots on target, no clear cut chances Town comfortably controlled the game, Bakinson had a very good game and improving with every game. Nothing wrong with that for me.

Don't think Bonne was too disappointing. You worry about strikers when they aren't getting chances, rather than when they miss one. His header leads to the goal too.

Wasn’t at the game, but most on here seemed to say that the first half was a big improvement on Saturday.

The whole performance was a big improvement on (4th placed) Sunderland's outcome against them in the week.

Let's not forget these lower sides in the table are the ones we have been dropping points against most of the season.

I don't know what people have been seeing over the past 3 years that they think any teams in this division are much more dominant than that in most away games, honestly.

In terms of chances we were actually slightly more productive than we were in the reverse fixture (17 shots/7 on target v. 11/7) and more productive than we were at GIllingham (15/5). Sometimes everything you hit goes in, sometimes the keeper makes a few saves and you miss a few.

You are spot on. But sadly there are plenty of complaints. Not enough goals, it’s only Doncaster, poor performance, better than Saturday but not good enough, yes, but what about the Wednesday performance and losing at Bolton, Bakinson is an Ashton signing and only scored 1 winning goal, too much squad rotation, Warnock would have done better. Booooooooo.

6 wins in 8, 5 of those matches away from home, 5 clean sheets. I’d take that all day long, whoever we were playing. Somebody said in the past few days possession stats are meaningless. Personally I disagree. It’s pretty difficult to score without the ball. 68% tonight away from home.

Well done again the players, McKenna and the staff. A brilliant start to KMs time here. I’m pleased with that
