Terrible club decision today - Morsy 15:25 - Mar 12 with 2241 viewsFrimleyBlue

Clearly couldn't have been anywhere near 100%, not worth risking, id have rather not had him today than lose him for the next 5 games.

I couldn't disagree with you more if I tried.

He will have been involved in whether he played yoday or not. Captain and playing well and we need to win.

Easy decision, the right one...end of.

I didn't mean to vote that, I was just being nosey.

Um, was thinking similar but as Mills was saying you can't always tell if it's just been a bit tight.

I suppose it depends how you look at it as each game is too important now to not get to field your best.

clearly not the right one as he's gone off Homer, most competitive players would say they want to play, it's up to the club to make the right decision.

Burns also not looking great either

No...its always the players final choice. You wouldn't have been complaining if he'd stayed on.

Every game is a cup tie for us. It reminds me of when Sir Bobby risked an unfit Kevin Beattie against Man City in 1981.

If we are sitting comfortably in the play offs then Morsy doesn't play.

KM has to make these calls and I'm 100% behind him on it.

Exactly this. Morsy would have said he's OK to start and KM makes the decision accordingly. Nothing to see here.

If he'd stayed on then it would have suggested he was fully fit for this game and this post wouldn't even exist.

If you're letting players decide if they are fit or not, then we may aswell get rid of the medical team. That's why i've put CLUB decision and not a KM one as someone declared him fit to play and it's quite clear he wasnt.

Your wrong. Its simply a decision that hasn't worked out.

Correct, a terrible decision that didn't work out.

1 sub used, potentially more damage done to the hamstring than before, when we really needed him against 2 sides currently in the top 6.

Obviously football is opinions, so we will clearly have to agree to disagree on this, but hopefully we can celebrate 3 points today and his injury hasn't been made worse.

No it wasn't. As demonstrated by the outcome.

Whewther it was a reasonable one on the information available is another question. But a tight hamstring, so soon after doing it? Always a likely problem.

Captain hindsight

IF Morsy misses the next 5 matches then it turns out poorly as compared to the supposition that he could have sat this one out and been fit for all of the next 5.

Just because he has gone off, does not automatically mean he is out for the next five. And then the other question is whether it could have been predicted with any degree of confidence the odds of him playing 90 minutes today unscathed and the odds of him going off and out for the season.

If Evans is likely to be fit next week, that might have played into the overall thinking too. There are a lot of variables we do not know.

The really dumb decision was to keep Morsy on for another 10 minutes after it was obvious that he was injured. That might make a big difference to his recovery time. Of course, you have to rely to some extent on the player in making those decisions.

It was a bit obvious wasn't it? Tight hammy tues, didn't complete training Thursday...
still amazed Burns is going tbh,

Just don't know why we risked it, we talk about trusting the squad then we take a risk like that.

McKenna would have asked the medical staff. They clearly said he was ok. Morsy must have done as well.

It's just unfortunate.

So obvious you put him in your team yesterday...

So...how are we lining up tomorrow? by FrimleyBlue 11 Mar 2022 18:35

Burns
Morsy
Bakinson
Penney

Celina

Jackson

Only put penney in as Thompson appeared to have problems later in the game Tues and aluko tends to be dropped after a midweek game.

Friday comes after Tuesday and Thursday.

This is why you get so much stick. Inconsistent and sometimes you just talk b011ocks.

Truly impaired.

Absolutely I hadn't read that he didn't complete training when i posted that. That's the Alarm bell imo, same as Burns who you see i also included.

2 different injuries, different risk factors imo, a tight hammy is always an incredibly dangerous risk to take.

McKenna's confirmed as much since - said every indication was that he'd be fine to play. Add in the importance of the game and it's a no brainer.

But what does the club's management and medical team know over some random muppet online?

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
