If that really is a big vote winner, then that says a lot about the people it influences.

Good grief. Just think of the cost of converting the road signs from KM to miles …

I’m approaching 46 years of age and I was only taught using metres and kilograms. Apparently it was about 60f outside today.

It's lazy culture war bullsh1t innit.

Imperial measure weren't even looking banned were they?

You just had to have BOTH measurements on a package/notice/whatever and most people decided they couldn't be arsed.

Unlike decimilisation 'going metric ' has been a huge failure in that with decimalisation sixpences, shillings, half crowns etc quickly disappeared

Talking to Generation Thick who insist they have no idea about Imperial measurements ............... until I ask them how tall they are, what they weigh, what waist size, shoe size, even the size of their tits (and dick size is in inches) etc

Ask them how far somewhere is away (miles), half fast vehicle travels, what fiel consumption (mpg), snow/rain is still measured in inches, the wind sped in mph ...........

these are retained because imperial measurements are practical, and relate to everyday usage - metric doesn't, it is an arbitrary set of numbers based of numerical ease rather than practical use, thats why so much is merely imperial size converted to metric numbers (jam 454g size jar))

however given that so much is that, does it matter if a pound of bananas is referred to as 454 g ?

and anyone watching the football tonight will most likely be knocking back a few pints, naughty ones will be skinning up from an eighth (of an ounce), and watching the ref pace out ten yards.... and I don't doubt anything just missing the goal will be described as inches wide, not 25 or 50 millimetres wide

so I suspect just like next w/e those who want to celebrate will do, and those who think the royals should go will do their thing, without the need for a rule or regulation either way - so fck off bloater with your absurd posturing

anyway lets hope we get a honest ref tonight ..... the last one was as bent as a nine bob note

The fact they produced a study on this would almost be amusing if it wasn't for the near certainty that some company was paid millions for it.

I bet “Generation Thick” at least know that a sentence should start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.

For some reason certain people fall over themselves to defend Harry despite his constant stream of (illiterate) bigotry . Sure he sticks it to Boris, but hey so does everyone else.

In reality it’s just the ramblings of a madman. Some sort of hard left Victor Meldrew.

Has anyone actually defended Harry? If so, I haven't seen it. I think he makes some very good points (amongst many less so) in the most dreadful way possible. I mainly cringe when I bother to read things he writes.

His ramblings, when read out loud, is what I’d imagine a totally drunk Stephen Hawking to have sounded like.
