I'm available all week to talk you through my other recommended signings. Lol.

Who are our Mullin, Palmer and Tozer? by STYG 11 May 2022 9:30
For those that haven't followed Wrexham's fortunes, at the start of the season they convinced the top striker in League Two, Paul Mullin, to leave Cambridge ahead of their League One return and drop down to the Conference. Arguably a bigger club and definitely a lot better for him financially.

Just after we played Cheltenham they signed Tozer, who I think was their captain. Again, he dropped down two divisions and his defensive ability and long throws have been massive for them.

In January they paid £300k, an insane sum in the Conference, for Ollie Palmer from Wimbledon. 14 goals in 17 games I think.

All three of them were absolute, cast iron certainties to be head and shoulders above other players in those divisions. Never a doubt in my mind they'd all be hugely successful.

We won't be getting many to drop down two divisions, but who are the ones we could realistic get? The Luton, Millwall, Coventry and Hull players that would definitely shine in League One and who would also be likely to be tempted here.

The one that stands out for me early is Dominic Ball of QPR. Think he's been released. 100 games in 3 seasons in League One and would be great in that sitting role behind Morsy. As well as central midfield, he can play centre back and full back, so also ticks the versatility box as well. 26, so the right blend of having some good years in him and not being a rookie. We'd pay similar to QPR, it's not far to move and we play in front of twice as many as QPR.

All these players will have options but he's the sort we could lure I'd imagine in terms of wages.

Go on then, please do tell who follows Ball in the door!

Well done on calling this one, though.

I'm going big on Eliasson to be the left-sided solution. Fits our profile, likely to be on the 'list' and Ashton knowing him may help in selling the club.

Not sold on the chances of Kane Wilson / Nicky Cadden (can't remember which one is on the left) because I don't think we will take the risk of an outstanding player in a lower division for such a key role, more someone with proven ability at this level or above.

I think Eliasson is the one for the left side too. Nimes are in big financial trouble and need to offload players, so we could get him for a cut-price fee it seems.

Isn't he way out of our league? Would be excellent though.

Believe that players in France and Holland qualify and that he would from his time in England anyway.

Market value said to be £2m - I wouldn't mind betting we could get him for half that. If he was one of our prime targets, I'd imagine the owners would fork out £1m on the right player.

Hopefully by market value you don't meant Transfermarkt, the one that I regularly see quoted.

They value Wolf at £100k and reckon Kenlock is worth 2.5 times more. They reckon Rakeem Harper is worth £2.5m, Tom Carroll £1.8m and Burns at £250k!

Yet people still quote them.

I don't think he would attract enough points from Ligue 2, but I may be wrong (helpful that he played most games and also featured in the cup). I think that we would likely have to appeal, but his previous spell in England would presumably help us in that process.

I think it was Joe and one other than said Ligue 1/2 and Ere and Eerstedivisie qualified.

He’s lived in the UK before … not sure if that has any bearing on that new current situation?

Transfermarkt is very reliable - when the players' values are updated regularly. Woolfenden's market value hasn't been altered since 2019 when he was out of favour.

I have never once logged on there and seen values that look remotely realistic.

I don't think many values have been updated since 2019 looking at the state of it. So it's reliable once every 3-4 years I guess.

The transfer markets 'broken clock'.
