Twtd hive mind please.... 14:52 - Jul 29 with 959 views | BlueandTruesince82 | I am flogging a desk on FB market place, someone has said they will take the desk and will send UPS to collect with the money. Ups man gives me my cash and take the desk away. This immediately raises my suspicion, am I being paranoid? I can't see how (or why) anyone aod book a parcel collection without at least knowing the weight of the package but equally I'm not sure how they think it will go down? Some rando turns up with no cash then they won't get the desk. If they try and push past me they will get introduced to my baseball bat. I'd like to think I'd recognise fake readies. What does everyone think? [Post edited 29 Jul 2022 16:42]

Well not yet. The cash comes with the UPS man apparently, I'm not aware ups offered a cash drop off service

Got it. Yeah that sounds unlikely. Certainly over here UPS do not offer any service of that kind.

Twtd music hive mind please.... on 15:48 - Jul 29 with 843 views | blueasfook | Dont even touch it. Its 100% a scam. Give the guy some verbal abuse then block him. FB market place is an absolute minefield of scams for both buyers and sellers. The fake banking app is a popular one too. They come to your house, and show you that they are transferring cash to your account using a banking app. Except the app is fake and no cash will ever appear in your account. But by the time you realise - they, and the item you sold them are long gone. [Post edited 29 Jul 2022 15:49]

They don't its a scam. I find a good rule of thumb is: If you think it sounds dodgy, it probably is.

Twtd music hive mind please.... on 16:07 - Jul 29 with 803 views | Zx1988 | As others have said, Facebook is an absolute vipers' nest when it comes to scams etc., If I'm selling I tend to work on a cash-only basis, or, for the odd exception, an electronic transfer with me verifying that the funds are in my account before letting go of the item.

Well that's answeres how it was supposed to have gone down, I certainly wouldn't have given those details or paid for insuring cash that isn't mine yet!
