Tbh I think as amazed he was given the job in the first place. Don’t think he’s got a huge amount of experience in a senior post …. or had he?

I think it’s a bad move for Warne if he does take over at Derby better off with Rotherham.

He’s already been promoted with Rotherham 3 times and bottom half Championship is their ceiling so there’s not much more he can achieve. Whereas Derby are a bigger club with well over double the attendances and the potential to be in the top 6 in the Championship again within a few years. He’ll probably be getting paid a lot more too.

Not sure if anyone caught the BBC fly on the wall thing "Moment of Truth" - it is a podcast on BBC Sounds following Warne at Rotherham and Karl Robinson at Oxford in the second half of the last season. Language is a bit fruity, but I actually warmed to Warne. Anyway, in the last few episodes Warne was starting to question whether he had much more time left at RUFC even if he did take them up, whether it was all getting a bit stale for him, so I am not totally surprised by this.

Says the lack of ambition of Rotherham doesn't it.
Main 2 strikers go to Sheff Wed's and our selves.
Other key players left.
Now the manager drops to league one after a solid start to the season.

I found it a really good listen. I also warmed to Warne and whilst Robinson seems a decent guy he didn't seem to have much more to offer a struggling team than rabble rousing.

Warne and the chairman have done an amazing job at Rotherham - considering where they were at the point the club was sold and that he didn't want to be manager but everything runs its course.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Not sure it has anything to do with ambition rather than necessity

Small gates and owner of the club owns a business (lighting company amongst other stuff) supply building projects - as I work in the same industry I can say there really isn't a lot of dollar flying around right now due to certain obvious reasons so he probably feels the need to accrue some of his own money

Always seemed a good fit though I have to say Warne and RUFC

Maybe Rotherham now won't be the Naaarwich of League One - that'll make the in-laws happy

They will probably argue they have replaced Smith and Ladapo with better strikers or that would have been the aim. There were already issues with Freddie at the back end of last season wasn't there?

Always will have to sell as others have said so despite a good start staying up will be a real challenge and Warne will see Derby as going in other direction and huge potential.

They've been trying to get him on a permanent manager contract since he took interim charge in the summer.
