I assume we are light on attacking talent in the U23s at the moment? on 19:31 - Sep 20 with 1369 views | monty_radio | I think that seems to be a consistent problem, maybe intensified by the fact that most teams only play one striker, and then often it's a "false" one. Anyone who shows a genuine for goal combined with a strong physique is not only sought by everyone, but acquired and stockpiled by the top clubs. When did we last produce a real threatening attacker - Wickham? And even he, when fit, has been anything but prolific. Apart from Bent, unless you go right back to Brazil and Whymark I struggle to think of a home-produced goalscorer who has maintained it across a significant career. [Post edited 20 Sep 2022 21:58]

I get that, and that seems to be the case for defence and midfield, but that's probably our strongest front 3, who've played lots of minutes in the league.

Whilst they've done well, maybe KM still expects more. Lets be honest Harness has done well, but his ball control and decision making have been awful in many fixtures, but he's then got himself in the right frame of mind after a while and appears to up the gears

Quite. Seems to indicate as you say McKenna sees no other options if we want to progress in this competition. I would have liked to have seen more of the club's promising up and coming youngsters, but can't back that up with any suggestions.

I assume we are light on attacking talent in the U23s at the moment? on 10:28 - Sep 21 with 1051 views | Wickets | I'm not accusing anyone on this thread of anything but some fans were calling for " play the boys " . Last night was 100% plus for me winning games boosting moral minutes into legs as KM said . It was win win . There is no way us using an inferior team risk getting beat would help our season for me it is simply poor management . For years we have made little or no effort under the previous 4 managers and it has not helped one jot just glad we have a young manager who is moving the club on .

I assume we are light on attacking talent in the U23s at the moment? on 10:46 - Sep 21 with 997 views | Chrisd | Thought the selection was spot on last night by KM, enough to give certain players game time, but then keeping players in to maintain continuity. I feel in the past, it's been changes for changes sake and too many of them. I know this cup competition is way down on the priority list, but I'd like us to have a good run at it. Winnings breeds confidence.

TJJ came on as sub last night so if you are right, we might be thrown out of the competition or the game awarded to Arsenal or it might be replayed. All part of a cunning plan?

I think it's at the parent club's discretion whether their player is available or not.

Marriott? Rhodes? Wickham? All had decent enough careers really. Not many players become prolific in the Prem do they.
