As a kid I obviously loved the original 3, although viewing again they were very much family action films, apart from some dark elements in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Everything since has been rubbish, derivative or low quality. Rogue One had moments, but just starting rehashing. I gave Boba Fett and Kenobi a go, parts of the Disney + spin-offs. and they deteriorated into low budget and poor scripted dross.
But Andor is great, it’s everything Star Wars should have become. Looks great, brilliant acting, well scripted, dark, but ultimately it’s about a fascist regime and the growing resistance. By episode 6 and 7 it really goes into another gear.

Madge and I started watching the films is timeline order a while back. Enjoyed The Phantom Menace, Clones Wars and Revenge of The Sith.
Then we tried to watch Solo and we both got about 30 minutes into it and thought it was crap. Might give it a revisit and then on to the original trilogy when we get time.

Used to be a big deal when one was released.
Also loved the originals when I was a kid, had the books too and all that.
But now they seem to knock them out every five minutes, there's loads and I don't know where they've all come from.
I doubt I've seen half of them and there's some I'd not even heard of. | |

Don't fully agree with everything you have said as there are some quality star wars viewing to be seen outside of the original 3. Mandalorian was very good for example
There has been a lot of average stuff but as a keen Star Wars fan I am always keen to see the universe now expanding
Completely agree Andor has been brilliant. The first two episodes I wasn't sure but since the third I am hooked. Lots of potential storylines to explore, just hope they don't rush to the Rogue One timeline too quickly |  |

Funnily enough when it first came out I wasn't interested in it at all, looked like a Boba Fett rip off, without the cool jetpack. Ignored the first series but only when series two was close to coming out I gave it a go. (Even if just to find out who this fooking Baby Yoda character was). Similar to Andor didn't click straight away but since then it's got better and better. Series two is better, with the season finale being a great Star Wars moment (don't want to say too much) | |
