Not so.
Pitch sizes vary within the given parameters. Clubs can even decide to have narrow or wide or long or short, if they think it could be advantageous to their style of play, as long as they stay within the parameters. |  |

The one and only time I went to watch Town in that city was in the Feb 71 FA Cup match. I was only 9. I have a really powerful memory from it. We were bombarded throughout the game but resolutely held out for a 0-0 draw. As we filed out of the ground, a vicar in his dog collar with a Stoke City scarf turned to us and gave the angriest Ian Paisley-type glare I have ever seen, and screamed at us "You lucky b***ers". I was shocked and terrified. We lost the replay. |  |
