Kemi Badenoch has endorsed Sunak 18:11 - Oct 22 with 1245 views | tractordownsouth | Surely that's now curtains for Johnson? To get over the 100 threshold he needs support from the right and to lose a key figure from that faction suggests he's going to fall short. It's similar to August when you had people endorsing Truss who were clearly more ideologically aligned to Sunak just to get a job in government, as Tom Tugendhat did.

Hostile Environment May followed by Sink their boats Patel followed by I have a Rwanada dream Braverman is too much. I'd like a legalize pot ('cos we can make money from it), laissez-faire on protest and hands off approach to the brothers in the hood type of Home sec.

How is there any mandate from 2019 now? 150k members pick another PM within a few months, laughable (and I've never voted Labour in my life!). [Post edited 22 Oct 2022 18:24]

Kemi Badenoch has endorsed Sunak on 18:30 - Oct 22 with 1086 views | Dubtractor | Just seen that Tom Rhyming Slang has also endorsed Sunak. No chance Johnson is getting to 100 without people like that. You'd have to assume, on balance, that enough of the tories aren't stupid enough to go from the farce of Truss straight into the circus that we'd get with a second go with Johnson. It would kill them as a party.

Yeah, back in 2019 Johnson was winning middle-of-the-road Tories but now he can't even get all of the lunatics to back him.

Kemi Badenoch has endorsed Sunak on 18:31 - Oct 22 by Dubtractor | Wait, are you saying you're not a lefty? |
Someone's got to try and balance you lot out. Otherwise you would spend all day arguing with each other about Corbyn and trans inclusion in sport. Although it depends really, if you're talking about social politics this side of the water than I guess I would be considered very much a lefty.

Just taking the pee. FWIW I'm probably more Starmer than Corbyn, if only out of a pragmatic acceptance that its the only way we'll move politics in this country to the left of centre, even if it's not far enough left for a few on here.

Kemi Badenoch has endorsed Sunak on 18:42 - Oct 22 with 1037 views | Simonds92 | How often have we heard 'surely thats curtains for Boris' ? I honestly can't believe we're actually looking at a scenario where he is anywhere near it. Him and half his cabinet should probably be inside right now with the level of corruption in government in the past few years. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think I probably was as well with that response but TWTD is of course only serious business.... That said anytime I have a spare 5 minutes, there is usually a good ole 8 pager about the above with some very angry people, getting very angry at other very angry strangers on the internet who happen to support the same team. Can't king William call a GE at this point? This is an embarrassment. Just give it to Starmer now :) [Post edited 22 Oct 2022 18:51]

I suppose that 'balancing out' argument doesn't carry for arguments over paedophilia......... we need to have their case put The arguments from the majority side regarding righties is mostly whether they are mad or bad. Dorries is clearly mad, whereas Coffey is bad. Otherwise it is putting the case for the government to serve the people, not the other way round as cap doffers would have *. We are not simply units of production (Minford, Rees-Mogg). There are problems with the climate, and the evidence clearly points to it being man made. It has to be addressed, just as those of education, housing and health And it is a measure of the absolute lack of any argument from the right that they are left shrieking " lefty, liberal, wokey, , master knows best.... baa baa ...... etc" . Nothing else. * is Tom Tugenhat just a posh way of saying cap doffer ?

I’m no lefty either. I could never have voted Corbyn or his like. Or Johnson’s nut jobs come to that. Left of centre/centre/slightly right of centre for me. It’s all the same - the boring old pragmatic middle ground which I know some on here detest or see as an opt out. So Starmer is ok, in my view.
