Things to do while not watching the World Cup. on 08:51 - Nov 22 by RobTheMonk
Is The English any good? I love a good western!

Watched it in two sittings and thought it was superb although there were a couple of instances where either I or the timeline got lost. The photography is stunning, filmed in central Spain near Toledo. Not one to watch in the background as it would be easy to get lost, the dialogues at times were a bit random for my liking too.

I loved it, although the plot falls apart a bit and some of the narration grates.
It's the finest looking programme I've seen for ages, capturing the Western light, skies and colours perfectly. Soundtrack's spot on too. Some of the performances are brilliant: Toby Jones pops up early on for just one episode.

Strong 'Some of his best friends are black' vibes here.
Only if you weren’t actually paying attention and are stuck on repeat throwing out lazy one-liners.
It’s quite funny how much you’re on the “Brexiteer” side of this so-called debate. So ... what is it about the loopy and racist right-wing that you like so much? The kicking of anti-racists and those who believe in social justice and better equality? The blind support for ethno-religious apartheid? The inadequate but certainly self-serving politics?

Margolyes demonstrates that's she's utterly bonkers by saying that British Muslims complaining about Islamophobia should be asked to justify the actions of Saudi Arabia.

Give this a watch
Although technically it was aired live just after the Wales game so it didn’t clash.
I haven't watched that yet (or Baddiel's interview on HARDtalk) but something I watched recently on the iPlayer and is still available for a fortnight and worth catching is:

So you're saying she's a "Jew that doesn't count?"
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

All people should count. Some people have bonkers views. Hope that helps.
The premise of the sho was to highlight instances of racism towards Jews that is overlooked when applied to other minorities.
Odd you decided to turn this into a Corbynfest.

“The premise of the sho was to highlight instances of racism towards Jews that is overlooked when applied to other minorities.”
I don’t deny that antisemitism crops up in a particular and often very different way. But that’s a bit of a spurious claim when other minorities are still treated worse in many instances and we’re seeing an actual hierarchy of racism demonstrated the other way.
Do you think anyone who called British Jews “a nation within a nation” would get a plum job on national telly and welcomed into the Labour Party? Or that our media would pretty much say nothing about it? But apparently, it’s perfectly OK to say it about British Muslims.
All racism and “othering” of people is bad. But we’ve definitely allowed a dodgy, extreme and weaponised battleground over antisemitism to emerge while simultaneously ignoring/apologising for even worse stuff.
