Harness could be a big blow 08:56 - Nov 23 with 3110 viewsunstableblue

He showed on Saturday what he can offer and why he is one of the most effective and quality players in the team.

He brings attacking intent to the side and has goals.

Let’s hope it’s less severe an injury than expected.

With Chaplin very out of form and Camara poor last night (am sure it’s a one off), Jackson still lacking real goal threat, and Ahadme looking less polished than other ITFC players (but may still prove a threat).

We look perhaps a little weak up top. And I’m sure this is the area of focus for January business.

Huge chance for Edwards to step forward and take his chance.

I assume we'll learn at the presser on Friday. Was set to undergo a scan today.

I still think we have enough quality and better depth than most of our rivals. Surely they’ll start picking up some key injures too.

Makin will be pleased though.

Edwards is one option. Sone Aluko returns around Christmas Time as well. As a player, Harness is a big miss but we are well covered in that position.

Didn’t seem to be able to put any weight on the knee, and two people to provide a shoulder so he could hop to the dressing room.

Surely that’s when you need the mobile stretcher

Everything crossed it’s a know that feels worse at the time

But McKenna seemed to suggest knee was over extended

Harness really improved us from last season as he is truly effective

I think Edwards is more than decent enough to step in. Harness was lucky he hasn't lost his place in the league line up prior to now to be honest.

Edwards has been outstanding. I think the reason that Harness has been making more starts than Edwards since his return to the fold, is that Harness is not a particularly great option to come off the bench to make an impact whereas Edwards is.

Not really. No I don't like harness and Chaplin as a pair. But I would have liked to have seen him and Edwards as a two. But thanks for thinking of me.

a niche perspective

Agree that having Edwards come off the bench for the last 25 minutes or so is a big asset, I hope KM keeps with that still...

Yes we do look to be lacking with the accumulation of injuries. Where we had depth to rotate over the 4 positions this is no longer the case, and we were already coming to the ask for additions in Jan prior to the Harness situ. I hope Harness is a short recovery otherwise we have limited rotation options for a game plan based on high pitch intensity.

Yes Edwards is coming into form and now has a more prominent role if Harness is out for any time.

This quality of cover is not shouting L1 winners over the next 8 games, it’s hardly enough to maintain high quality training in your small sided game breakdowns or phase of play practice into the Jan transfer window. KMcK gets to really earn his corn over the short term to keep us on track and in touch.

Position depth 4231 [Injured]

Morsy - [Ball] / Camara
[Evans] - Humphries / Camara

Burns - [Harness]/ Jackson / KVY
Chaplin - [Aluko] / Humphries / Camara
Harness - Edwards/ [TJJ] / Jackson

Ladapo - Ahadme / Jackson/ [TJJ]

Possible players today and into December

Morsy - Camara
Humphries - Camara

Burns - Jackson / KVY
Chaplin - Humphries / Camara but then CM has no cover
Edwards - Jackson

Ladapo - Ahadme / Jackson

We really aren't covered in that position at all. Chaplin, Jackson and Edwards the only options.

I wholeheartedly disagree.
Edwards is a player with a high ceiling in terms of his potential.
He should be looking to start every game. Now is his opportunity.

I actually didn't think Camara was that bad on Tuesday but seems that I'm in the minority. Would have given him 6/10. But shows what I know...!

See what you're saying of course, but for me the game today is all about that second half and that injection of pace against tiring legs.

That quality from the bench is crucial...

Have you considered you both might be right here. Edwards should be looking to start games and has the quality to be an upgrade if he finds consistency.

If Harness is out I do think he will replace in transfer market so this will be a consideration.

I think you're probably right, but the fact that Edwards wasn't fit at the start of the season and has been playing catch up coupled with the fact that both Chappers and Harness fell away concurrently probably led Mckenna to use him more sparingly than would have been the case.

Step forward Kyle, your chance is here.

I really like Aluko, his ability to control the ball and bring it to his pace is exceptional.

But he wont replace Harness' goals. With Chaplin look pretty poor atm. Harness is a huge miss.

Hope that Freddie's injury is not serious , he would be a big miss , not convinced by much of a goal threat from Jackson .

Hopefully nothing too serious, but if it is Edwards' form looks good and Chaplin might benefit from playing with a wide forward who isn't quite so similar to him.

Moving away from starters and finishers to a more settled forward line might not be an awful thing either. As it stands we're actually not that effective late in games. Since McKenna took over we've won just 1 point after the 80th minute (Morecambe away last season).
