Lies are catching with the Tories, and their supporters

I for one won’t be counting my chickens until someone not of the blue persuasion in walking through the door of no10.

Even then they will have decades of mismanagement and underfunding of services to sort out, it’s going to be a tough tough task.

The only Muff in Town.

I think it is a given that the Tories are out. I am not sure why they are clinging on, other than to try to secure jobs for them when the inevitable happens.

I have previously stated that the longer they hang on the worse it will be, as shown today. Voters have already made their mind up, and no matter what Hunt/Sunak try now the damage has been done.

Yes, they will be a mountain of problems to sort out. Massive, massive underfunding in so much. Utilities need taking back into public ownership. The move back to the EU will need to be speeded up. and Parliament needs an overhaul, as yet another Tory MP falls foul of the law.

The counytry needs to change it's mindset, and embrace the future, not cling to the past. The UK can no longer be governed by those who grew up watch black and white films of the 50's that had 'us' winning the war.

Housing needs a massive increase, allowing workers to move to where the work is and perhaps to have a home rather than clinging to a ladder as it appears now.

Yes, the Tories have yet again left then finances in a mess, but the country set up the NHS when it was all but bankrupt. We can build for the future and allow future generations to flourish,

To use a rightie song 'Tomorrow belongs to them (not us)

Any poll which has the SNP just 14 seats short of the Tories is alright in my book.

The damage they are going to do in more than a year terrifies me, and I don't think they generally have much in the way of a conscience to stop them from effectively asset-stripping the country and burning down the house.

I think that even their traditional supporters should be pushing hard for an early election and their more decent backbenchers should be trying to block them and limit the damage. They are not conservatives now, they are just treacherous thieves and they risk civil breakdown.

The problem is that much of the lunatic stuff of Johnson/Truss and brexit is now only coming to fruition.

Johnson who has only ever seen being 'in office' and especially as PM as a chance to line his pockets was never going to be bothered too much about what others were up to. rather like expecting Fagin to castigate the artful dodger for pickpocketing.

truss, who somehow thought that brexit thought that causing the economy to slide down the cliff would be better helped if that economy took a running jump off the cliff.

I cannot recall any government where so MPs many have either resigned or been jailed for 'unParliamentary actions'.

Voters swallowed the lies of a number of known liars against clear evidence of what would happen. A large number need now to take a long hard look at themselves and ask why were they so easily taken in by such an obvious scam.

At the very end of the article:

“Yes, people are annoyed with us but but I don’t think it’s a done deal with Labour” a Tory MP said.

This sums up how away with the fairies the asset strippers are. ‘People are annoyed with us’: so no ‘we’ve screwed everything up, trashed the economy, public services, relationships abroad, destroyed the U.K., made everybody poorer through incompetence, bogus ideology, greed and thorough spite’ then. It’s the fault of the plebs for being annoyed with their betters.

‘I don’t think it’s a done deal with Labour’ - quite frankly if Putin and his flunkeys stood next time, they’d get more votes than the current boneheads. What part of finished does this idiot not understand?

As has been pointed out, the worry is twofold. This lot will steal and wreck as much as they can because they still believe their weird ideology is right - and it allows them to fill their own pockets (see rouble donations, Hancock chewing on bugs for £300k etc). Secondly, for the incoming government the mess the tories will leave could be insurmountable.

Still, at least their intentions might be something more than the tories’ self interest only approach.

You need to look no further than the "Edinburgh Reforms" that Hunt is pushing. What he is proposing is simply inconceivable to any neutral who understands finance. They are preparing for another huge "bail out" wealth transfer, resulting from the market crash that they are actively promoting via this set of proposed "reforms".

Scary indeed that this treasonous act is just another largely ignored media article, given that the consequences for us plebs are so great.

They don't have any 'decent' MPs.

They all been complicit in bring at least one f**king awful policy in over the past decade or so.

Yes, it is good news. Only the conservative party is openly corrupt, dishonest and obviously incompetent. Any replacement for this current shower of sht will be a major upgrade.

Not at all, corruption is effectively baked in to the Conservative Party as their constituency is the self-interested wealthy establishment.

To say that it is true of all parties is simply a Conservative tactic to deflect from their own shortcomings. It is something you have either fallen for or are complicit in.

To be fair, I think people are generally turning a blind eye to Labour’s own corrupt, anti-democratic and self-interested reality.

Better than the Tories? Probably.

Good enough on their own terms? No, not even close. It’s a continuation of the same status quo and political “values” that have brought us here.
