Stone Island 21:55 - Jan 25 with 6248 views | lizzibee | My small wants a stone island sweatshirt for his birthday. Where is a good place to get one (that doesn't cost the earth!). Ive done a google shirt and OMG they are expensive
Stone Island on 21:57 - Jan 25 with 5227 views | ITFC_Forever | They either cost a fortune or are fake. Best way is to trawl the web for designer retailers and hope to catch them in a sale.

Thanks, will keep doing. I don't want fake - just something I don't agree with

I think that a long, deep chat on the importance of individual expression and rejection of the lure of sheep-like branded consumerism may be in order Lizzi. Well that or shoplifting, it's the only ethical choice. Edit.... or Miss Slave says https://tyneattire.co.uk/collections/stone-island ...but I have no idea how it compares. Or tell him it's vintage, which is better in my book because none of his mates will have it. Old school terrace look

I'd love that chat, but he is nearly 6ft and I'm 5ft2. Plus I can't really argue with my collection of designer bags and shoes (oops) TO be honest, I think he would be a crap shoplifter to my annoyance

thought I had one on eBay buy all turned very odd and pulled out as the seller was properly dodgy (kept calling me to speed up payment) so I cancelled | | | | Login to get fewer ads

On Facebook there are a few vintage clothing pages, 80s casuals, casuals offers and fixed prices. There are some nice SI items on there

This for any branded clothing now. Fraction of the cost of retail prices.

Vinted is well good for kids clothes. My wife gets our little ones loads off there, better for the planet and better for the pocket. Especially given how quickly little ones grow out of things. Got my daughter a couple of nice jumpers for a fiver the other day, but they're very young, guess teenagers are different to buy for!

Stone Island on 11:49 - Jan 26 with 3554 views | Chondzoresk | If you want pukka clobber I am afraid that it will cost you. I treat myself to a piece ot two of Stoney every year. I only purchase direct from them too. Yes, it’s expensive. A jumper on their website is £800 at the mo. I know you are looking for something much, much cheaper, however if you buy from eBay or Vinted, then expect a “Romford or Bangkok Market” special. If you buy a piece with zip on it check that the zip is a “YKK”. Make sure all labels look correct and stitching is of the highest quality. Flannels offering Sweatshirts for £159 upwards. SI will last years and years and items purchased 10-15 years ago still look great if looked after correctly. Some friends say I’m a snob when it comes to clothes, but back in 1984/5 I was wearing knock off Sergio Tacchini that went under the name of “Rossini”. Pretty sure it was £20ish Ipswich Market. I wish you good luck in your quest.

I was shopping in B&M the other day and spotted a triple badger! Even a double badge is a bit uncool but triple!

Not sure what that page is like now, but I know a few years ago when he first started that page, he was outed by loads of people for selling fake stuff. As I say, that may have changed now, but I've always been wary of that page.

Stone Island stuff is nowhere near the quality of old, in fact I think it started to go downhill after 2000 which coincided with the green edgeing being taken off the badge. I've got loads of pre 2000 stuff that is as good as new but later stuff hasn't faired as well - including a £650 jacket that the buttons all fell off and can't be replaced. If I am buying anything I would always buy older second hand stuff that has been looked after and there is plenty of it about but for the OP - there is loads of fake stuff about. If you buy off EBay ask the seller to send you a picture of the washing label. To the average bod the art number on the washing label is just a jumble of letters and numbers but the Art number tells you, what year & season the garment is from, the brand i.e. Stone Island, CP Company, SI Denims etc., the type of grament i.e. Jacket, Shirt, Knit etc., the style and manufacturing process. Very early pieces just have limited information and don't show the season/year or brand. The first two digits of the Art number refer to the Season/Year. By way of example the year / season numbers for 2000-2002 are: 2000 33 32 2001 35 34 2002 37 36 And so on The next two digits tells you the brand these are listed below. 13 - CP Under 16 14 - S.I. Denims 15 - Stone Island 16 - Stone Island Junior 18 - CP Company 20 - CP Donna The next digit is the garment type a list of these is below. 0 - Leather 1 - Shirts 2 - T-Shirts 3 - Trousers 4 - Shoulder Pieces 5 - Knitwear 6 - Sweatshirts 7 - Long Coats 8 - Suit 9 - Bags/Hats/Accessories A - Jacket/Blazer B - Swimming Trunks G - Waistcoat L - Bermuda Shorts M - Jacket S - Shoes The last 3 digits refer to the garment manufacture and dying processes. Unless the washing label shows an indication of the above mix then it is very likely a fake - although I was told that CP have stopped with the ART numbers but I don't know
