I was in Tenerife during the Festival last year & was looking forward to watching the racing & some punting. I had my Racing Post on line account set up & working. Then my internet & TV feed went down on the Tuesday! Several calls to non-English speaking operatives at O2 Espana (I speak a bit of Spanish, but not enough to discuss the technicalities of set top boxes) & service was restored for Gold Cup day on Friday. Looked through the form & ready to bet, then I discovered that I can't access my UK betting accounts from Spain as they are quite tight on gaming regulation. Too much hassle & I think all my selections lost so saved me some money. There is a guy out here nicknamed "The badger" who is happy to take an illegal cash bet, but I couldn't be bothered to try to track him down. |  |
