How would this affect our very own club’s plans with the introduction of Ipswich TV ?

Do we / would we sell the rights for DAZN to show the games ?

Would DAZN overwrite Ipswich TV ?

Surely we’d accrue more revenue doing this ourselves ?

Just some thoughts

If they're after every EFL game (and assuming that iFollow continues to operate), I would assume there'll be some sort of workaround that would allow iFollow to continue to broadcast.

The question will be whether that would also apply to club-run streaming services.

Would the clubs have to vote on/approve such a fundamental change to the way in which matches are broadcast?

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

They already show every Premier and Championship game plus loads of other sport here in Spain for €13 per month which is much cheaper than Ifollow for championship clubs. Cant see ifollow surviving if it becomes similar in the UK

TownTV is more a marketing thing than a big earner - they'll still do the wraparound coverage of the games as DAZN aren't going to have studio setups etc

I would imagine that it would replace the club's match day coverage as those bidding for the contract will expect all games to be included.

It would also likely be the end of iFollow and club coverage.

That side of Town TV sounds like it will get dull very quickly. There’s only so many times the club blow smoke up its own arse over and over again before people switch off.

Are you sure DAZN shows Championship matches already? They showed some FA Cup matches and most Premier League games but I don't remember getting an option for that too.

That’s actually a good point. We all love Milts and Holland and they’ll do a great job presenting but of course any in-house production is going to be all sweetness and light. Maybe some fans like that stuff. Personally just give me the game with some decent camera angles, and a post match presser, and that’s all i need.

It would be a gamechanger if they staggered the games and moved to a Premier League style schedule. Fook Newcastle vs Chelsea when I can watch Newport vs Crewe.

It will get very boring very fast. In fact the new commentator on iFollow clearly has to say certain things, like ‘Super Blues’ and ‘the stadium bowl’. At least when Brenner commentated, he was allowed to criticise us up to a point.

Doesn't make any difference the contract wouldn't start until 24-25 season (I believe) and we'll be in the prem then, different contract

And according to Kieron McGuire on the Price of Football podcast most of the Premier League 'TV Channels' don't cover their running costs so not convinced it will earn anything.
