What is your milk of choice? on 09:35 - Apr 14 by J2BLUE
Presuming you swapped to oat, did you try others? I tried almond first and liked it so basically settled on that. Then yesterday I had coconut in a coffee and it was great, not sure I would want it as my go-to though.

Yea I tried almond first. Didn't think much of it to be honest. Oat is great for cereal etc. I still have semi skimmed milk in tea although I use a tiny amount. I can't do plant milk out yet either as it's too sweet.
Swailsey recommended hemp milk one. I didn't realise he hated me.
I mainly have coffee black, would add oat - almond seems to take over the taste. I can't get on with oat milk on oat, so use semi skimmed milk for cereal. I consume far less dairy than five years ago.

Interesting, might have to pick up some oat next time as at least then it's another option if there are shortages. Can't see myself trying hemp any time soon

I started on almond and thought that was the best dairy alternative at the time. I then gave oat a go and never looked back.
Soy in tea, nothing in coffee (all the non-dairy ones curdle it in my experience), almond to drink straight (ethically produced from Spain).
All the oat ones I've tried (at least 2 dozen) have tasted slightly sweet & disgusting, even when they say it's unsweetened. Can't do coconut (allergic years ago but might cautiously try again as I've recently found I'm now OK with a bit of coconut oil).

And just imagine the plight of the Soy farmers....having to round up the herd of beans every day for milking
Then trying to attach their tiny soy udders onto a mini milking machine using a magnifying glass and tweezers
Total nightmare
Soya Milk.... Just Say No Thanks
Clearly you have a couple of good, well made points. But the age old argument over whether cow or soy farmers have the harder job is far more complex then that. Though with soy you have the obvious issue of their miniature size and it's lack of compatibility with modern milking machinery. I believe compared to cows, soy are way less likely to move in large groups into a quiet corner of a field and plan armed mutiny compared to soy. Its swings and roundabouts really

And muck-spreading soy poo would be a doddle in comparison.

I liked Almond milk until a Vegan said it is bad for the enviroment
I tried oat milk but it seemed a bit lumpy? Is that normal or did I get a bad batch?

It shouldn't be lumpy, especially if you give it a shake before using it. Oat is WAY more sustainable than almond milk. Almond milk is still better than dairy from a sustainability perspective but compared to other plant milks it uses an awful lot of water.
