Anybody involved in this on here?

Basically looking to form a similar for Sheffield/ South Yorkshire as there seems
to be hundreds of us up this neck of the woods.

Maybe try starting a Whatsapp group to get up and running. I asked if anybody was interested in a London group and we've got over 70 on it now. Might give you the kick start if you want something more formal to follow.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Yes.

All started when someone decided to arrange a meet-up in a pub in Bristol. Quite a few people came along, an organisation was formed and it's grown from there.

We've had meet ups before games and to watch Town on Sky in pubs, talks from current (Mings, Skuse) and former (Osman, Stewart) players (plus MD Ian Milne came to chat to us in the pub), more recently a very active message group.

Which takes quite a lot of work to organise, but we've had excellent people willing to do that.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Thanks.

Basically I like the idea of it, happy to be the face of it, but don’t really want to put any effort into it other than posting a thread on TWTD.

If there’s a Sheffield answer to Guthrum somewhere that would be great.

I'm certainly not any of the guys who've done the organising!

Pretty sure the SW Group original pub-meet was announced with a post on TWTD. Can't think how I'd have known it was happening otherwise.

Thanks. I’ll probably pick it up nearer to the new season.

Or I could arrange the first meet up in my Owl’s mate pub for the League One play off.

I always love finding out where pockets of fans are from. I've never lived in Suffolk, and although I am a huge Town fan, and have infected my kids with a love (or at least tolerance) of the Club, I've always just assumed that almost everyone on here is more legitimate than I, because they all live in the Churchmans or whatever. So it's lovely to read that there are hives of stalwarts all over the gaff.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised - we do get about, don't we? There always seems to be a Town fan, wherever you go. If the Evans slide had continued, I fear that would have died out. I think this lot might just have saved the heart of the club, and it's so exciting.

Bring on a similar post from the dozens of Town fans wanting to form a new group in Rutland next week...

Cheers mate. You fancy starting a North West one up and we can meet up and have a big old scrap in Glossop?

It's got nothing to do with ITFC, but when I was old enough I just wanted to get the hell out of Suffolk and go to the big city.

Edit: The Big City was Sheffield.

Thanks. I’ve been here on and off for 14 years, so have come across tonnes of fellow fans both on TWTD and real life.

@Phil/Gav - how far are we away from TWTD DM Group chats becoming a thing?

The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon - when you see someone in a football shirt, you only really register and emember the times it was it was an Ipswich one so it stands out.

Same as when you drive a car it seems everyone has the same one....
