Hirst is great but Armstrong scored 44 goals and got 11 assists in 86 games in his last two championship seasons. Doubt there will be many better options for proven championship goal scorer. | | | |

Think that's just badly written, isn't it? Should be "as much [as possible] of the fee that they paid for him".
You pay £15m for a 24yo as a Premier League club that valuation reflects your belief that they're a Premier League-quality player. If that belief gets proven wrong then you aren't going to get the same fee! |  |

Hmmm. Seems to have a 1 in 3 record more or less in the Championship but only 5 goals in the last 2 years, at a much more rarefied level of course. Maybe you’re right but I’d take Hirst if he’s in one hand and this guy is in the other. | |

Not really had much of an ask around yet this summer. We do seem to be mentioned a lot, which I think is because people know we've got money. Agents will say we're interested so other clubs think we're competition for the players they're after. | | | |
