I think you're overestimating how much Leicester care about selling Hirst to us. I imagine they have about 100 higher priorities than a couple million pounds from Ipswich.

Doing business in public that way is something the club has said it’s not going to do and the winter/ last summer signings suggested that was true. There are too many good reasons not to.

And this is the point. There’s nothing in it for Town. In any case MA made it clear they had made a lot of effort to stop leaks from within the club because it materially harmed the club’s negotiating position. It also harmed relationships between clubs.
If anyone has evidence to the contrary and he has lied, this will be a perfect challenge to put to Ashton at the next fans forum.
