Change of plan and now taking the train so won’t have a car to leave stuff in. Any idea of you can take a rucksack into the. Ground?

Yeah I saw that but thought that may only apply to concerts. I’ll just take a small man bag for my iPad and stuff, and a paper bag for my food and drink for the train.

Cheers.

I've taken an overnight bag to an away game before, at Charlton, and it was fine. They searched the bag, obviously, but didn't have a problem with me having it. Hard to know how rigidly Sunderland would enforce the A4 size bag rule for a footy match but it seems a bit silly.

Not going to take the chance that they confiscate my rucksack. It’s a decent one.

I think Dolly is your point of call here.

Can’t you just take a man bag?

It’s the new greener GB.

There’s only £50 difference between two return rail tickets and the petrol I’d use if I took the car. The upside is I get to read and watch some tv and enjoy a beer or two at the game.

Also day 5 of not eating meat. Must resist a burger before the game.

What a sh1t show GB

Go on Seat Frog, bid for a first class upgrade in the auction (assuming you are too tight to have bought first class) and get free food and beer on your journey.

Booked whilst in bed this morning. Spur of the moment change.

I’m quite proud of myself. My Mrs books all my travel arrangements. That’s the first time I’ve ever booked a train. Tried that seat frog as suggested but it couldn’t find my twin.

Indeed. I used to get so much stick off Benters for taking a rucksack to games. Never quite understood why 'travelling light' was such a sign of manliness for him, but there we go. I enjoy a train journey with a laptop and a book when I'm on my own for most of it.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I took a small rucksack in last season.

Sniffer dog seemed very interested in it, but I was allowed in.

Only certain lines accept Seat Frog. Greater Anglia don't but I got Peterborough for Edinburgh for £20

A bit off topic but it's rucksacks at gigs that raise my blood pressure levels. If people must take them then they should go in the cloak room.

I'd agree with that. Not sure I've ever taken one to a gig.

On rammed tube trains as well, still gets my goat how morons keep them on their backs.

Was that the cost of the ticket or just the upgrade?

Upgrade. I think I managed to get a return via Peterborough for £130, first class was over £300 so I though b0llox to that.

Didn't win the one on the way back, I think they sold out from memory as it was a Friday. My carriage was full of fat birds going on a hen night, thankfully they got off at Newcastle as they were making a hell of a racket.

I believe I said I keep it on my back if the tube's not busy and there's plenty of room to wear it and not impact upon anyone else. Unfortunately TWTD reads what it wants to read, not what's actually written!

What if the tube is not busy and then suddenly busy? Do you attempt to free yourself but then get in a tangle?

Personally I think rucksacks should be banned from sale.
