From reading online he’s (and Derby) had a poor start to the season

A friend of mine says he wasn't great second half of last season onwards really.

That said, he's very young and it's not like the rest of the team are pulling up any trees. Wolf didn't look anywhere near as good under various managers.

There's definitely a good player in there but if the Prem clubs are sniffing I doubt he'll end up here.

I’m more surprised that Derby are in a position to turn down 3 million - loan or no loan back.

Yeah fair, I guess it’s small change to them. They can get a few loan fees and probably get a chunk of the money back if he doesn’t kick on. To be fair to them they’ve got a good pedigree of buying up young talent. Just basing it off a few games I saw last season where he didn’t really look all that.

They may as well let a championship team take the risk then sign him later they will still go from 25m to 50m but lose on the first 3m to ~10m.

He looked bad against us. Too slow. I think we can do better with someone less well known. Wouldn't want Burgess out of the team for him.
