Tuanzebe on 22:15 - Sep 5 with 4562 views | Nutkins_Return | Be interesting to see what happens. Assume Luton offered him a short term deal and he turned it down. If it was anything long term then it's unlikely he would turn that down and come over to us (given they could offer higher). I'm not anti this signing since he has very good pedigree but we really need to be careful. He has played so little football. Deal to end of season with an option if he can prove some sort of fitness. It's going to take him 6-7 games to get going is the problem since he has missed so much football.

Tuanzebe on 08:07 - Sep 6 with 4114 views | Matt_Netherlands | I’ve got a slight worry he’s going to play us a bit. Get himself up to full fitness with us and use us for that, and then get his agent to find him a move to somewhere like Luton again. I hope I’m wrong, but it wouldn’t be impossible. Hopefully we’ve already agreed a deal in principle before he’s started training with us.

Wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if it helped in the short-term.

Hopefully he respects McKenna more than that. My reading of it is that he wants something more than a one year deal or a pay as you play and I think any club is going to want a proper look at him before committing to that.

Tuanzebe on 08:53 - Sep 6 with 3925 views | ArnieM | Questions to asked by the club medical team ( which I’m sure they’re doing) , is what I’d the nature of this back injury? How long has he had it , and what rehab has he had and what has the outcome been? If he has a degenerative spine ( young people can do), then his chances of successful rehab for the level of sport he’s at is unlikely. My concern is if he’s had a persisting ongoing back pain for longer than a year, the evidence base is not reassuring for s complete recovering . The “ nature” of his back pain is key.

In which case we'd have dodged a bullet, wrong attitude for our squad. Suspect McKenna knows him better than that, tho, or he wouldn't be here at all.

Hopefully management are smarter than what you clearly give them credit for! Alternatively they should employ you as a consultant;)

To be honest he'd be well within his rights to go to any club that puts a contract in front of him. Until we put a contract in front of him then we are making no committment to him either. Let's be fair here! McKenna suggests it's not really a a 'trial' but generally speaking if we want to have a look at him before we commit then why do we expect him to commit to us on that basis. We're doing the right thing. He's agreed to take the 'risk' and let us check him out a little cost to us. Let's be fair here, he doesn't owe us too much until we sign him.

I meant more in the sense of "hasn't bought wholeheartedly into the ITFC project", which most, if not all, the rest seem to have done.

Tuanzebe on 11:56 - Sep 6 with 3374 views | Simonds92 | Whether he signs or he doesn't I dont think we should be expecting him to have a big role to play based on his injury history. To be coming up to the age of 26 with less than 100 professional appearances is not particularly encouraging. For context, our own injury prone Teddy Bishop left us 2 years younger having played 127 competitive games.
Tuanzebe on 12:10 - Sep 6 with 3301 views | ArnieM | Good player if not, I’d be very wary of signing him based on the type of injury he’s struggling with. That isn’t going to go away in my humble opinion.

I would really like this one to work out, so I'm going to add in his England U19 to U21 caps to take him over the 100 mark :) But yes, it's evident that his game time has been seriously restricted. I suspect he would have made more appearances if he'd been at a league one side like Bishop was, mind. Axel on the other hand has yet to play lower than the Championship. It will be a gamble if we take him, but the club will make sure that it is a gamble taken in the knowledge of all of the relevant facts. We have no real knowledge of his medical history or his current physical condition. We must trust KMac and his team.

Nathan Broadhead has/had under 100 games under his belt at 25…imagine passing up on him.

If he was going to do that wouldn’t it make more sense for him to go straight to Luton (or a smaller PL team). They have PL money, can afford to take a bit more of a punt on an ex Man Utd plsyers with top flight experience.

If he is good enough he may be worth the risk. With careful management he could be a useful asset. I am sure the medical people will assess this. The greatest Irish defender had no end of knee problems. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/health-
