I can’t see KM leaving us yet . And when / if he does it’ll be to one of the top 4 PL Clubs, not bloody Palace (which is laughable). I just hope Ashton has got the best possible contract in place with KM . I know they mean sod all if a club is serious about securing a manager but at least make them pay big time for it so it removes a lot of potential predictor clubs from the equation.

Non story. KM would be mad to go to palace.

Said it before, the only teams McKenna would leave us for won’t be interested in him until he’s proven himself in the prem.

Palace are exactly the type of club that could come calling right now, and as Hodgson is basically there whilst they find a longet term replacement, they are the most likely club to come knocking. I'd be surprised if he left now. If we don't get promotion it would be more likely, but actually I think if we narrowly missed out KMcK would still want to give it another go.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Genuine question but are managers not hugely undervalued compared to players in football? In our own scenario, if we lost Leif for circa £15m it would be a blow but he would be replaceable especially with that money coming in. We lose McKenna it completely derails our season imo and we get £4m compensation? What is the benefit to that? You cant considerably improve the players with that money and any manager is of a lesser standard.

…probably scupper his chances of getting the Brighton job when De Zerbi gets poached by one of the European superclubs.

Tick tock.

Discussed at length yesterday, but basically:

Teams will not pay that much to poach a manager (Spurs baulked at £10m for the chap at Feyenoord(?).

Managers are seen as higher risk. If you spend £50m on a player and they don't work out, you'll still recoup a good chunk of that investment. If you spend big on a manager and have to sack them, you'll have to spend even more to pay them off.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I get that but they have to make us an offer that is acceptable/tempting because we dont want to lose him. The promotion to the prem is worth approximately £200m and our chances of that happening are far higher under McKenna.

He's too good for Palace btw, so I would hope he wouldnt jump ship for them.
