We've been slapped today. Most threads I've read have been appropriately balanced in acknowledging a poor day at the office, an excellent Leeds performance but more widely, an incredible manager and squad performance this season (bar today). |  |

100% agree with the OP.
Leeds much better than us today and so they should be with that set of players.
It highlighted a few deficiencies in our squad but this is not a level playing field right now. Leeds had Gnonto on the bench, that said everything. And Summerville should be nowhere near the Championship.
We have done unbelievably well and have a lot to be optimistic about going forwards. All is certainly not lost.
As for Leeds, they played exceptionally well and have the squad for automatic promotion. But if I was a Leeds fan, rather than celebrating, I'd be asking how were they 10 points behind if they can play like that? |  | | |

You're building straw men again Frimmers! I haven't said anyone's said the season's over and some of the comments have been way more than "any disappointment".
I've seen someone saying our players need to be taught how to tackle (despite an incredible defensive record away from home prior to today). I've seen someone saying we should feel sorry for the away supporters but not Leif, I've seen someone saying Broadhead never turns up away from home, I've seen someone saying we'll lose belief in ourselves, someone saying we'll be psychologically f##ked if we lose to Leicester, someone saying we need a new keeper...

Fair play to anyone that made that journey and paid £47 to watch that this close to Christmas. I was seething from the comfort of my own home, and for the first time ever, decided to switch off early around the 60 minute mark.
I'm in a foul mood, we were poor from front to back today, but you're right that it is just one game against an excellent side. I am a natural worrier, so take it with a pinch of salt, but it does make me concerned about what lies ahead. That said, McKenna has got us out of much worse situations than leading third by seven points at the midway point before.

Never understood the compulsion of those on here who sit on the sofa, device in hand, desperate to type up and dump their brain contents on everything that happens during the game.

Certainly a few who seem to lack some perspective. Never mind the start of the season, even on 1st December we were 7 points clear of 2nd and heading into a very tough run of games. 5 matches later we’re still 7 points ahead of 2nd, which I’m sure we would’ve all been delighted with. Disappointing today, against a very strong opposition, but that’s what a £30m forward gets you. There’s levels. We’re still in a great position going into the 2nd half of the season. 23 games left and we’re in a position where 13 wins and 10 defeats would have us on 91 points. Not saying that would be enough for 2nd, but we’re in a fantastic position and fixture list wise things calm down slightly after Stoke. 3 big games coming up, take 6 points and we’ll go into the final 20 with probably the best chance of promotion to the premier league in literally decades. |  | | |

People use this forum to vent their frustrations. No different to as you say shouting at the TV. It's a good place for it. It's not ott in game. As I said which you are ignoring on purpose no one moaning in game yesterday had forgotten what happened before the game.
Maybe what is ott was the forced attempts at finding positives with what was quite frankly a crp game of football from a town perspective.

Not disagreeing with any of that in terms of what we've achieved. We all know we've achieved far more than expected. Its a good summary of where we are. However, I do feel there's a type (maybe the OP) who are just waiting for us to under-achiveve or under-perform and then lie in wait for the subsequent pissed off posters... and then go over the top on them all. Seems a bit pre-meditated. Putting themselves on a pedestal so they can slag off anyone who's genuinely annoyed/disapointed/deflated, etc .If your first reaction after a performance like that is to start giving dad advice to some instead of giving your human reaction to the football, then maybe they have other agendas.

I'm not forcing positivity, I'm asking for perspective. Comments like we need a new keeper suggest some have forgotten what got us here.
I stand by my point that all of those comments I listed are OTT nonsense.
BTW it is different to shouting at the TV - I don't have to read/hear it!

Broadhead... he's been extremely hit and miss.. is that 100% wrong?
People saying do we bring in Walton. I don't agree with it. But are they OTT by suggesting we bring in the first choice keeper under KM until Walton got injured..
