He looks a cracking player from these, able to attack from anywhere and with plenty of pace and skill, and probably a higher ceiling than any of our players. His goal in the first video kicks in at about 1.20. Looking at these, and the fact that he played in the World Cup, suggests to me he will become a starter.

My Brighton season ticket holder mate rates him very highly: “full of tricks, loads of energy and work rate, a quality signing for you who’ll suit your style of play”.

I know these are 'highlights', but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Quick feet, strong on the ball and obviously able to play right or left. He looks like a McKenna type player to me.

He sounds very much like a Hutchinson. Have we brought him in because Omari will be recalled to Chelsea?
Bit different to Hutchinson, a bit less hectic and subtler, also a couple of stages ahead in development. Don't think it's either/or – Sarmiento will probably mainly cover the left and Hutchinson the right, although both are flexible.

I doubt it, Hutchinson is getting minutes in a good environment and in a side challenging for promotion. I presume we've got Sarmiento in to give us more depth in the final 3rd, especially on the left.
Broadhead, Chaplin, Burns, Hutchinson, Sarimento certainly seems to give us plenty of options. Pace, technique, ball carriers, creators, finishers.
Need a #9 who can create the space & conditions for them to thrive in now, what with Hirst being out.

Never been a fan of highlight reels as I’ve never watched one when the player concerned hasn't looked like a world beater. He clearly likes to run with the ball at pace which is always encouraging. If he signs, like any player, he'll have my backing.

Indeed - I remember watching the highlights for Jon Nolan when he signed thinking we’d found a lower league Steven Gerrard….
That said this guy does have pedigree and I’m excited to see him in action. You’d have to assume Harness is going to fall down the pecking order.

Harness is really showing his worth as a different kind of player in two of our 10 roles though, isn't he. He's a more physical defend from the front option, who has also shown improved creativity and greatly improved ball retention over the last few months as well. He stays active for me.
Gives us more genuine pace. Broady and Harness who have both operated well off the left are good players. Neither are slow but this lad is much quicker.

Looks very right footed.

Highlights? I watched Nolan for a whole game for Shrewsbury in the Play Offs and thought ‘hello, we’ve a real thoroughbred here’. Turns out we signed Hercules from Steptoe and Son.
Back to Sarmiento, sounds like a sauce you put on your chicken. Seriously, we do look a bit light up front now and hopefully he and another addition will give us more options and the opposition a bigger headache.

My Brighton mate/season ticket holder rates him. Think we have a player with a lot of natural ability, pace and can play across the entire front line. But made 2 points 1, Sarmiento has been a bit fragile, and often picked up injuries- although he has been suffering less with that. 2, Brighton sent him out onloan to help him improve his teamwork. He has a tendency to try and beat every player when he should pass. Plus tracking back / defending needs improving.

From a Brighton supporting friend re Sarmiento when I said looks like on his way to Ipswich:
Gutted! I’m a big fan. I found out last night he had been recalled thinking he was going to help with the number of players we have our injured. Presumed he would go straight in our cup game against Stoke. Very skilful, but he’s not a winger though, more centeral midfielder or no 10. He been unfortunate with injuries.
Hopefully he stays injury free and helps you get promoted. 🤞🏻

Might that be why we saw Hutch on the left v Stoke? Just a thought...
I think that a major issue against stoke was the lack of left foot delivery from that side. No point switching play if the wide men have to cut back in and move the ball back across again, every time.
