It's nice for the tourists to visit football clubs, but the clubs belong to their communities.

They’ll ease it into slowly, with NFL-style international games a couple times a season. Then ramp it up. Fans have to react the right way which in this case would mean full-on rioting and burning stadiums down. Not joking.

We don't need to stop all people flying, but there could be a huge fine for any sporting event being held in foreign countries that increases unnecessary flights.

Wouldnt be keen if it was more than 1 game. But i dont see a massive harm, the NFL fans in the UK appreciate the games over here.

I think it works for NFL, in a league with a 17 game season you can have 8 home and away games and one international. Teams are travelling across different time zones to play games anyway and the winner of the league is ultimately decided by a knockout tournament. The whole structure of football in the UK is set up so that you play every team home and away and at the end you've got a pretty fair reflection of who is the champion. Play the Community Shield abroad maybe, as it's a one-off showcase game.

Hopefully the combination of the new football regulator and Kier Starmer will put rules in place to prevent these thieves from stealing our game.

£X million to us is meaningless when it is received by everyone in the league. Most clubs give all their income away, mostly to players, no matter how much they earn. Fans squeezed more and more so that clubs may be more competitive, which in reality means paying more and more to players. Wolves fans' season ticket costs double so that those earning £100K per week may hopefully earn £120K per week in the future. What we fans gain from the circus are 1) the world's most talented players in our national league, and 2) foreign investment into some clubs' infrastructure. How I'd love to trade these perks for a top flight that was genuinely competitive and more affordable! [Post edited 7 Jun 2024 17:07]

These people must be stopped on 17:21 - Jun 7 with 1248 views | dirtyboy | In terms of the economics of it. FA Cup semi finals? Instead of Wembley, let the International stadiums have it, then keep final in UK. Rather that, than the semis there devaluing the final. That's about as far as I'd let it go. That said, the Ipswich Blue Thunders v the Red Gunners of Arsenal at the Rose Bowl has a nice ring to it.
