Loved Flynn Downes when he was here, also big fan of Ben Sheaf, but British players cost a fortune. My brother is a ST holder at FC Basel, and they have a young defensive midfielder by the name of Renato Veiga. He is only 20, but captains Portugal U20s, tall, great tackler, box to box, a few rough edges. How good would he be with some McKenna coaching? Transfermarkt says E3M, but would probably be closer to E10M, but still cheaper and at 20 has bags more potential. Let him learn from Sam and Mass.
We need to find the next Kanté. Simple. You certainly get more value with overseas players, but also higher risk they may not settle. Get the right type of player who can survive the physical demands and it can work out very well.
If the 'dossier' that was reported the other day is genuine, it seems that the club are scouting with a language requirement in mind (doesn't seem a bad idea, to be fair).

Pretty sure he'd have played for McKenna's U18s at Utd but would think the asking price would be much too steep for us.

Only if he's a cockney and can't pronouce his words correctly! That aside, I'd have thought he'd feel quite at home in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk.
