He's still eligible for England if he chooses.

England XI for next internationals on 10:30 - Jul 15 with 1842 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Any England team for future tournaments that doesn't include Adam Wharton is void in my eyes. We have been screaming out for a player like him with his skillset for ages. He should've been in midfield this time round. I think more realistic is Pickford Trent Stones Branthwaite Lewis Hall Wharton Rice Saka/Palmer Jude/Foden Gordon/Rashford Watkins Obviously other players will pop up, injuries, form etc. Also not sure what the new system will be under a new gaffer. So it really is impossible to say. But that would be my rough guess

Absolutely agree on Wharton. He is going to be quality. Not sure about you not including Mainoo in this team, I assume this is by accident as he was excellent when involved (more so than Rice). I think Pickford has been excellent for England and has never let us down but we need to get rid of this 'look how far and hard I can kick a ball' rubbish. We need to be playing out from the back and through the lines, especially as we have no real outlet with Watkins as the further man forward in this team.

Shaw's only 29 so imagine he'll be left back ahead of Hall - who's done little of note so far - for the next international cycle. Fitness permitting, of course. Same with Stones, at 30. 3-5-2 works far better than 4-3-2-1 for England as well. Pickford Konsa - Stones - Guehi Saka - Rice - Wharton - Shaw Bellingham - Foden Watkins Saying that, I thought Rice had an abysmal tournament.

Not a mistake re Mainoo just doesn’t fit in that team for me. Rice will start and I think Wharton is a better player and profile for the team I made. I really like Mainoo, thought aside from the Netherlands game he didn’t stand out (but who did) his time will come im thinking short term.

Agree with what you said about Rice. Thought he was poor. Honestly I thought Shaw was older than that. But I do expect a breakout year for Lewis Hall this season. Botman js out for Newcastle so expecting Burn to move inside and Hall to start left back. I rate him really highly. Watch this space I guess.

Agree on Rice. You can also add Walker, Bellingham (overhead aside) and Kane to that. 4 key lads, right there.

We definitely need a other left back to come through. Not sure what's happened to Chilwell - he's only 27 so another one who has a chance if he can find fitness and form.

England XI for next internationals on 12:07 - Jul 15 with 1562 views | blueasfook | I'd question Foden being in the side. With the exception of a good game against Netherlands he wasnt great in the tournament. Certainly not at the level we see him play for City.

Neither was Bellingham, in fairness. I'd say, overall, Foden was the better across the tournament out of the two.

Bellingham did score two important goals and got an assist. Foden? Nothing.
England XI for next internationals on 14:08 - Jul 15 with 1272 views | bournemouthblue | Our weakest area is the left side really, Shaw isn't the attacking left back he was, defensively he is fine but isn't going to offer you pace on the overlap Playing Foden, Saka and Bellingham together is the new Gerrard and Lampard there, they're all fine players but the balance isn't quite right. You could ask Bellingham to play deeper in Rice's position, freeing up that left side for winger who can take people on 1 or 1 and burn people for pace etc You can't have loads of number 10's and few actual runners who overlap or make runs in behind unless you're going to continually pin a side back and work loads of openings with good movement.

England XI for next internationals on 14:23 - Jul 15 with 1243 views | Nomore4 | The biggest problem with England, and which has also always been a problem. We have World class players available. However these players are only World class playing for club sides, not international. A problem Spain for example don’t have.
