I still can't believe this is happening 20:43 - Aug 15 with 3824 viewsjasondozzell

In no order at all: Ian Milne, 5 year plans, the other used car salesman guy, getting thumped by Lincoln 5-3, Mick's huddle on the pitch against Hull, Lee O'Neill doing 50 jobs, Milts desperately trying to get people to chuck academy money as an academy friend, Keane taking everyone on army training and Lee Martin getting blisters, tree growing out of Churchman's roof, waiting an entire summer knowing that Waghorn was off, Magical Vegas, Matt Gill on the touchline, Jewell watching the DVD... Could go on and on and we have.

And now we're about to play Liverpool at home, signing England internationals, and have the best young coach in world football.

Just four years ago it seemed impossible.

Weird feeling isn't it!!!

Remember the coach under Cook who was also a baker.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Yeah, it’s incredible isn’t it.

The video on YouTube had me feeling rather teary about the sheer achievement of this season, and then the Phillips news today has brought it all home.

The game I always come back to is the FA Cup replay 5 years ago, celebrating a last minute Alan Judge goal away at Lincoln, and walking away from the ground depressed that it was the level the club found itself at. Quite how we’ve turned it around is Hollywood stuff.

‘Every point is a prisoner’. After that appalling game, my dad and I drove back to Waldringfield in stunned silence. For the first time ever. Literally.

At least the humiliation of SW and Carlton Palmer carving through us like Maradona elicited rage. Not this time. We were done, beaten, finished. There was no brave new dawn, no bright tomorrow. Nothing.

I’ve seen that, Harbey doing impressions of a footballer, Stockport at home, proper bloke Coke (more like sack of coke), Eubanks-Blake, the ‘Duke’, Bullard waddling out with ginormous but too small shorts that would have powered many a yacht to Olympic victory, Cook in charge of his coffee cup and s@d all else venting like Krakatoa but have no shred of an idea how to build a team - even if he did know a good player or two.

And after all that, here we stand. About to play in the Premier League. Only a few years ago Clegg or one of the other idiots was waving a pot of paint for somebody (LON?) to slap a bit on the turnstiles yet today a world superstar buys 1.4% of the club following a further investment this week on top of £105m ish this year, PL TV money etc etc.

Regardless of how the season goes, this club feels like a runaway train. Hell, if it all ends in tears it’s been a helluva ride!

I can’t believe this is happening either

So many other things:
- McCarthy shouting F*** Off to the fans
- Debt collectors coming to training to speak with Chopra
- The club then giving Chopra $250k to pay off his debt
- Walters having to send a photo of his vomit to Keane to prove he was sick
- Delaney getting a speeding ticket and ending up in court and blaming his unreasonable 'boss' (Keane) for why he was speeding

Tomorrow, all of that is consigned to history. Mo matter what happens this season, we are a club reborn.

Didn't phil even get a bit of a ban from club media events around the lambert era somewhere?

Also surprised no one has mentioned that spell we had where no one ever wanted to either negotiate a contract or renew one with us, every asset we had just seemed to come to the end of a contract and go elsewhere

Not quite sure of the team, but drawing 0-0 away and hearing it was always a tough place to go to even though the team we played against were bottom 3, and we were their first cleansheet at home all season.

a niche perspective

Getting relegated to League One.
GETTING RELEGATED TO LEAGUE ONE!
PAUL HURST!
PAUL LAMBERT!
Calm down Mark, it's all in the past now.
Now we have a left back who would have arguably made England a better team in the summer and an on loan defensive midfielder if who had played regular football for the last two seasons would have definitely made England a better team in the summer.
