Been reading about the options they have, one of them is to develop the East Stand (which is problematic due to housing) and this will only give them an additional 8000 seats for the paltry sum of £1b.
Or build a new stadium in the park next to SJP (Leazes Park) but these costs have been estimated to be between £2-3b and would face years of legal wrangling's (think building on Christchurch Park)
Neither option looks appetising, but £1b for an extra 8k seats is absurd. |  |
