Been thinking about this in Phil's reports for a few weeks now, not that I am going to criticize his writing, but...maybe I sense a worrying theme.
I would call 3-0 a comfortable victory, 4-0 or 5-1 a comprehensive victory, 5-0 or 6-1 a drubbing, 6-0 or 7-1 and we can begin to talk about a thrashing, 7-0 or 8-1 and it begins to look like a humiliation.
9-0 is obviously a needless and undignified display by a winning team lacking in morals and full of big time charlie show ponies.
depends on which team you're talking about. 1-5 is a proper beating for a pro side - for my crappy over 45s, we'd call that a great result. We've already lost 11-1 and 6-0 this season - last year, our worst loss was 18-2.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa
Is 1-5 a thrashing ? Or is that a bit over the top ? on 12:04 - Oct 15 by giant_stow

Sorry, when you say your crappy over forty fives team are you talking about the one you play for or the one you support ? (Ashley Barnes just looks that way, I think he is still under forty...)

chuckle, he resembles some of teammates, is true! Less of a belly on him to be fair.

But 10-0 is clearly the mark of a class team especially when it comes in European Competion. But this only applies when your centre forward scores at least half of the goals.

I think anything above a three-goal margin is a thrashing, a walloping, hammering etc. Maybe not 8-4, 9-5 or 10-6 but I've not had to cover many of them.
I've seen 3–0 wins described as "thrashings" before, which is odd.
I would say that a team probably needs to lose by 8+ to be "crushed".

Some of the language used for a few of our big wins in the 21st century:
Ipswich Town sealed their promotion back to the Championship in style - scoring five goals in the first 32 minutes as they thrashed Exeter City at a jubilant Portman Road. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65357036

Detailed as ever, that's put some claws into the thread...
So, 3-0 could, feasibly and dependant upon the display, be a comfortable win 4-0 or 1-5 maybe a comprehensive victory 5-0 (or even 6-1) a trouncing 6-0 or 7-1 a hammering 7-0 or 8-1 is where I would start to feel comfortable with a thrashing 8-0 or 9-1 a demolition; and 10-0 a crushing
