David Nugent anyone? Always scores against us, could ‘do a job’. Available too - as is Jack Wilshere to add a bit of Premier League class. Not quite a marquee signing - more of a moth eaten ridge tent without a groundsheet, but class is permanent and he’s the same age as Sam Morsy!
Get your finger out Ashton!

Dion Dublin perhaps. Good target man who can also play at centre-half if needed.

Here we go then, another 30 days waiting on a striker........
They have to get it done in a week or so, considering how in need we are, you’d think it’s been lined up for a while. The need for a striker hasn’t just dawned on us.

You would like to think there is a deal to be done where the selling club wants to have time to get a replacement in and that might help us. However, most deals end up happening late in the window. If Hirst is fit it is less urgent but we could do with getting the right player in sooner rather than later.

But it's not all in our hand. We can't take any striker who doesn't improve us because they are available quicker. The better players are the harder deals to do. We aren't shopping for squad fillers. The HAVE to be genuine team improvers now.

Hirst fit or not, it’s urgent. He could/would/can/will break down again, and Delap will get another ban, pick up a knock. It’s so important we get it done asap.

We need a better 3rd choice striker. The current has played a number of mins and the new one could/will be required to do the same.
Good call. Speaking of 1990s Wednesday strikers perhaps we can tempt George's dad out of retirement. When we are about it we could sign Liam's dad as well. Good full-back option and deadly with those long throws.
