Didn't McKenna give Fridge some PL minutes before he was loaned out? OR.... maybe Kieran thought Woolfy was the best candidate for captain. I would have gone for Mass, Phillips or Burgess myself before Woolfy.... but Woolfy is a senior player.

Or maybe he’s about to be dropped again for Godfrey but has been told he has to hang around as a reserve. Giving him the captaincy was a softener before that.

KM called him “important” and our upturn in form has coincided with his return and a revert to a system that he’s integral to - he’s not going anywhere unless someone better is coming in and ball playing CBs aren’t in abundance.

I think if he goes this will be the key reason why. Have heard consistent murmurings to this point.

You got to be looking at £6-9m for him, surely?

Wouldn't take less then £10m. Preferably in cash stuffed into Lidl bags

He’s vice-captain, so steps in if Morsy isn’t available.

You’ve heard consistent murmurings that he wants to leave? If so, where from? I’ve heard second hand from someone who knows him well that he backs himself to become an established premier league footballer.

Can't believe we'd let him go now but Sheff Utd were offering a decent chunk when we were in League 1 so obviously rate him. Around the time we lost at Rotherham at the end of January the club turned down quite a big offer. I suppose what we do might depend on the size of the £ on the table.
| Did anybody there notice how on 12:23 - Jan 13 with 2218 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Amazing that he’d have played Bristol Rovers in the third tier a couple of years back - he now looks like he belongs in the PL. Yesterday he didn’t even break a sweat. As an aside there were two or three occasions where he (Woolfie) jesticulated to Muric, looking somewhat annoyed that he was faffing around and not distributing the ball. To me Muric looked frozen like a rabbit in headlights every time he had the ball. Not sure if it’s a confidence thing, but for me it confirmed McKenna made the right choice bringing back Walton (I think Muric’s apparent nervousness transmits to the defenders too). | | | |

Lots of seemingly well connected folk on this forum. I don't think it's a secret. He wanted to be playing more and you've also got new players no doubt earning double his money.

Apart from the game where Morsy wasn't available, Woolfie started by O'shea had the armband you mean?

Seem to remember £4m being mentioned on here. He’s atleast double that now

Be very surprised if he leaves. A ball playing Premier League centre half, in his prime at 26 years old got to be worth £15m at least in today's market.
