Health drinks/supplements etc 13:19 - Jan 24 with 1338 views | Dubtractor | Anyone here use any? Keep getting them advertised to me, and I'm sorely tempted to try something. Over autumn and winter I really struggle for energy and and generally just feel like I'm running on empty, especially first thing in the morning. I have a reasonably healthy diet, and I'm pretty active and fit for my age, but I feel like I need something to give me a boost. Would prefer to try one that comes with a recommendation though! I take 1 every day (during winter/autumn months). Other supplements I take daily: - Cod Liver Oil - Creatine
Health drinks/supplements etc on 14:09 - Jan 24 with 1232 views | Basuco | I take a multi vitamin with iron tablet and 75 µg vitamin D tablet 2 or 3 times a week, (or when I think about it) I feel they help with tiredness and feeling generally good. I have noticed that if I do not take them my HB can sometimes be a bit low when tested before giving blood. Do they actually make a difference or is it me just thinking they do, I can't say for sure, but they don't do any harm and are cheap to buy. [Post edited 24 Jan 15:14]

I know it's hard, because I don't stick to it myself, but you shouldn't eat after 6pm and shouldn't look at screens (TV, phone etc.) after 9pm. If you really do need a boost, it's not ideal (as high in caffeine) but I'd recommend Tenzing energy drink. It's like a healthy Red Bull... made with all natural stuff; Beet sugar, lemon juice, green tea, acerola, guarana, Himalayan rock salt and caffeine from green coffee beans.

In the past year I've been drinking water with Phizz Electrolytes and it has been a game changer, especially first thing in the morning before a coffee.

It really is bad. I chuck in a couple of scoops of Creatine too (5g). Normally have it at 0600 after my first couple of hours on watch. I definitely don’t get the colds that go round the ship these days. MarkTWTD will also recommend it. The only warning I would give is that it looks like pond water and doesn’t really smell much better. The taste grows on you though!

I'd add restrict your meals to an 8hr period and while that sounds quite an ask, if you skip breakfast and hold out till lunch at midday you can have your dinner at 8pm. If that's too late for you, have a late breakfast/elevenses and have dinner at 7pm. Vit D3 best taken with zinc to aid absorption Magnesium for muscles and lethargy Selenium for everything from thyroid health (improved metabolism), brain fog / dementia to prostate health.

Interesting. I like Smart Water (especially the sparkling one) which also has electrolytes.
