Blackburn's turn to crap the play-off bed. (n/t) on 21:53 - Feb 4 with 1694 views | ITFC_Forever | In true Championship style, there’s a real bundle for the last couple of PO spots. Five points separating ten teams.

All competing for the chance to be beaten by anyone from the top 4.

Agree with this. I don't think the play-offs are a lottery really. The play-off final might be, but if one team is significantly better than the other, then they should win the semi-final over two legs.

You sure you're an Ipswich fan? Plenty of times we were the better side, but still managed to lose to a team 15-20 points below us. Perhaps the only time we didn't deserve to win the POs was - unfortunately - against that lot up the road.

Interesting point, but I don't think we were significantly better than West Ham in 2004/05 despite finishing 3rd. And I can't really remember Bolton in 1998/99.

Bolton were a very good team, I think we were lucky that Fat Sam told them not to worry about football in the 2nd leg and concentrate on kick boxing instead.

Blackburn's turn to crap the play-off bed. (n/t) on 12:54 - Feb 5 with 917 views | ringwoodblue | I was hoping that two teams from West Brom, Boro and Blackburn would’ve put some distance between them and the Budgies by now but it hasn’t worked out like that. The budgies now have a realistic chance of getting into the playoffs which is bonkers if you consider how bad they are.

I would put money on them finishing 5th or 6th unfortunately - as long as they keep Saintz and/or Sargent fit. None of the other teams seem interested in making the POs. We can only hope they come up short against whoever from Leeds/SU/Burnley finish 3rd. Be funny if it was Leeds again...

Yep it would be typical for them to fluke the playoffs in this of all seasons wouldn't it. Realistically though Sunderland or Burnley (likely to be 3rd or 4th) should do them comfortably over 2 legs, just like Leeds did last season

We always struggled against them. I was surprised we managed to navigate them in the semi that we did and had they not gone off their collective rockers, we probably wouldn't have done. I also would have been way more nervous in the final had Birmingham got past Barnsley.
