We've not seen Leif in that more tucked in position, when attacking like we saw against Auxerre. Looked such a threat when doing that, weird that its not been tried in competitive games thus far.

he did at times on tuesday, i remember as i was going to ask anyone at the game what his starting position seemed to be as on camera at times you could see him in that more tucked in role. I think the plan was for him and clarke to rotate like that Auxerre game with Philogene, but Clarke spent a lot of time coming inside so Davis ended up moving wide again. plus, we we cautious of the speed of their wingers I think too, so he couldn't roam to much. ( Think it may have been Aberdeen though)

I;ve checked his heatmap and there's a fair few instances of him cutting inside, but I'm not sure if that kind of shows im right or wrong lol. |  |

Yeah have also noticed which seems to be a modern day trend past couple of seasons with TAA at Liverpool etc which is all well and good but personally I think we're taking Leif's biggest skill set away from ourselves and nullifying those rampant runs out wide |  |

Pretty sure he moved inside for the last 10-15 minutes of the first half vs Bromley, which is how he was in position for the half-volley that he put wide. | | | |

I thought the movement between the two of them on Tuesday was better and seemed more coordinated. In his 45 minutes Leif created 3 chances and I think Clarke's movement - either going wide or tucking in with Leif doing the opposite was dragging opposition players around. | |

I think it's most likely deployed to make us less predictable. When the opposition know Leif is going to be doing the same thing time and time again, they can plan for it. It's not like he's not going to be going out wide, we just need to choose more wisely when he does it. |  | | |

Oh I agree and totally understand but I felt at times he/ we've been doing it a little too often that's all
I get it's to mix it up so to speak and to also over load the midfield etc | |

I think it’s a combination of a) he’s not 100% fit and b) it worked really well with Philogene in front of him. Maybe not so well as with Clarke. |  |
