The Zimbabwe squad for AFCON..... 21:12 - Dec 22 with 1304 viewsBloots

....is an absolute goldmine of tremendously named players.

As well as the well known Macauley Bonne and Tawanda Chirewa other highlights include:

Prince Dube
Marvelous Nakamba
Teenage Hadebe
Godknows Murwira
Elvis Chipezeze
Prosper Padera
Divine Lunga
Knowledge Musona

And my absolute fave, Brendan Galloway.

I used to work with a few guys from Zimbabwe Sunday, Blessing and Fortune. Sunday was a lovely guy but wasn't quite wired up correctly and could be a bit of a liability in social settings.

Elvis Chipezeze has a particularly pleasing ring to it.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

A lot of African kids I've taught have some brilliant names to our ears, Godstime, Friday, Goodluck are all fairly common and some so unique it'd reveal where I work! Usually though if they're called Blessing, Genius or somesuch name they generally aren't.

....but I'm struggling with "Teenage" to be honest.

How can you name a baby "Teenage"? It's very specific!

We get a lot of enquiries from Nigeria where I work. It's almost always a classic English first name followed by something religious.

Jonathan Godpower or Christopher Godstorm etc.

Pretty cool to be fair.
