Boy you must have very low expectations, it has been more than half the season and it is clear for all to see except the delusional that Azon (who has never been prolific, 25 goals in 144 apps in the Segunda Division, a division that is much poorer than the Champ and probably at L1 levels) and Hirst (for whatever unknown reason) isn't fit to fire us up this season.
We have probably the largest budget in the entire EFL, a parachute club, it is laughable if the best we can get is Azon and Hirst, players that would never make it to the starting XI in any other top 10 Champ club. | | | |

O'Shea - decent defender, but to my mind doesn't remotely fit as a progressive ball-playing CB that he was replacing (Woolfy)
Kipre - desperation signing in fear that our £16m on Greaves has been majorly spunked away?
Furlong - decent defender, but offers much less than Harry Clarke going forward, so to my mind he makes us *worse* especially in home games like Preston where onus is on us to dictate and create.
Philogene and Clarke for one position... did we really need both? Could another £15m-£20m have gone towards a legit replacement for Delap this summer had we not bought both?

If you've listened to KM over the past few weeks (in fact pretty much forever) then you'd understand his position.
Of course he'd get a striker in if there was an opportunity to improve on what we have. That goes for any position. The key word being 'opportunity' - they have to fit KM's requirements, be available and agree to come. If those don't align, we move on. | | | |

George Hirst has done so much for the club, but not only does he look devoid of confidence, he’s missing key components that contributed to his past success.
The reality of where we are, we need a clinical centre forward, we’ve missed big chances from our centre forward this year - and it could make a difference in the run in.
I saw the cereal box meme, didn’t make me chuckle one bit, but it wouldn’t be a reason for us not to go to the market and improve on what has been an evident weakness for near all season. [Post edited 2 Feb 17:02]

It's about being in a once-in-a-generation saloon to establish the club in the PL and wasting our chance by keeping faith with a striker (Hirst) who just may not be as good as we thought and another (Azon) that's a complete and utter project. | | | |
