| Akpom 17:17 - Feb 7 with 3044 views | tractor_lady | i just dont get why he isnt getting a run up front.... Last couple of cameos have been decent, he is a strong player and keeps on his feet unlike Azon.... Could be the best 9 we have if only given a chance. | | | | |

I didn't think so early on but more recently he has looked much more mobile....
| Akpom on 17:30 - Feb 7 with 2443 views | Blue_Uprising | Possibly a case of McKenna caught in 3 minds. Personally I’d have Azon and Akpom as the main 2 rotation for that role. Hirst just looks so off it for me. I thought when he came on today Hirst just didn’t look super sharp or hungry - just a bit pissed off. Maybe that’s me projecting a bit but got a bit of a sense. Azon and Akpom have such different qualities. Hard to decide whether to stick or swap. | | | |
| Akpom on 17:31 - Feb 7 with 2432 views | eirannach_gorm | Just because he stays on his feet more than does not make him great. His physical strenght has brought similar success in front of goal. He is possibly faster than Azon but they are different types of player. [Post edited 7 Feb 20:50]

| Akpom on 17:42 - Feb 7 with 2337 views | ringwoodblue | Although he won a corner from his main chance on goal, I feel he lacked the pace and conviction to beat the defender and really test their keeper. Still not convinced he’s the answer but hoping he will come good as I am for Hirst and Azon. | |

| Akpom on 18:18 - Feb 7 with 2139 views | JammyDodgerrr | Azon is just looking much better. Ever since he's become the main striker he's been putting in some good performances imo. Akpom getting better but he's starting from such a low bar I don't think we can trust him to start yet, and he's still going to be behind Hirst, because Akpom at least has versatility in his position. | |

| Akpom on 19:28 - Feb 7 with 1954 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Thought it was one of his better cameo’s today, retained the ball well and unlike Azon had the strength to stay on his feet. I actually think Azon is a decent enough player but he really struggles with the physical side of the Championship. | | | |

He spent half of the game on the deck.

| Akpom on 20:21 - Feb 7 with 1724 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I think Azon has really grown into it. Faded today and looked exhausted before he went off. I don't think Akpom had done anything in his cameos to suggest he was more deserving of being given a chance than Azon. Both have their strengths and neither has been playing with real confidence so far. | |

I agree, and I also think Akpom is better when the opposition are a bit more stretched because he finds that bit more space to use his skills set. Azon lacks that clinical edge/right decision but does occupy a defense well for an hour or so.

Hirst was certainly was pissed off when someone played an impossible ball down the line for him to chase near the end of the game. While his touch seems to have deserted him, he needs to be fed the right ball.

The thing is Akpom has proven he can score goals at this level, he's lost that sharpness no doubt but I'd always try and get him on the pitch for 20 mins because if he can find some form and confidence he could still make a huge difference in the run in...we're yet to see the real Akpom no doubt about that..

Has he…?! Wasn’t that 3 years ago now? Truth is - he’s utter crap.

Not as mobile as Azon, who was everywhere when we were on top and getting up the pitch. Akpom looks better when we’re hitting teams on the break. Although I’m flattering both of them. The decision making for both of them could be better if we were to be picky.

That’s the spirit! Dismiss someone as ‘utter crap’ who’s barely had a look in whilst we continue to squander perfectly serviceable opportunities in front of goal.

Jason Scotlandesque :-) i did see that post and they are not wrong he was definitely slighter back then - more mobile possibly but stronger now?

The guy’s more interested in diving over than getting through on goal and taking a shot. Shockingly - IF we go up we have to buy this turd.

Now you are confusing me - you were talking about Akpom earlier who absolutely doesn't throw himself to the ground its Azon who spends a little too much time on his backside! [Post edited 7 Feb 22:52]

Azon certainly did. I think he isn't doing now and is looking much better for not doing so.

Seriously? You’re calling Akpom a ‘turd’? You might want to edit that and pour the rest of that shandy down the sink.

| Akpom on 22:51 - Feb 7 with 1094 views | tractor_lady | Some great responses i absolutely think Azon and Akpom are ahead of Hirst. I do agree Azon has looked better as the seasons gone on, but his ability to fall over and be amazed he doesn't get a foul can be frustrating. I guess the the real positive is (if you want a positive spin on no January no 9) is that we are scoring goals from all areas of the squad and not relying on one no 9 who if injured would have massive impact.... (no im not saying i wouldn't have liked a proven scorer) just looking on the bright side | | | |

Hirst at his best is head and shoulders above both of them. But Hirst of the past couple of months is behind Azon for sure. We haven't really seen much of Akpom in the striker role have we?
