Second half and ET Middlesbrough were pretty much defending. Maybe my definition is different but run the midfield means you dominated it. You can't dominate it if you're defending most of the time. Its not like no-one got past him. | | | |

We can't do that for every player though, as has been pointed out, upgrading the backups is also important and that isn't going to be at 20m a pop.
There needs to be some realism on the forum around this.

Yep this idea that we will never shop in the Championship again is a bit unrealistic. I'm sure we will recruit further afield but it still makes sense imho to recruit close to home as well | |

Hopefully most of the recruitment this year is from abroad but we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater and totally ignore Championship talent if one or two fit the bill.
Delap had only ever played in the Championship and he was excellent because he had the physicality to step up that the likes of Clarke and Philogene didn't at the time. For that reason I'd steer clear of Imran Louza but I'd back (for example) Tristan Crama to do a job at Premier League level. |  |

Agree , the club cant recruit a full team of top liners , but the main signings , the players who are going to play week in week out, need to be of a certain standard , signing no better than we already have is not really an option as we found out last time. | | | |
