Loved it as an insight into the sheer volume of faces/names that any manager has to meet on their first day and the realisation that to greater or lesser degrees, they have to learn about everyone working at the club, because they are essentially the public face of everyone from Ashton down to the tea ladies.

Most managers did an office walk through when they were appointed, not so many engaged with all office staff after that, though.
The ones I remember who were very personable with the office staff were Joe Royle, Paul Jewell, and (my personal favourite for his genuine interest in the staff) Mick McCarthy. |  |
