Philogene - If someone offered 20 - 25 m I think it would be seriously considered.

Egeli - He would be better staying here this season and the coaches finding his best position first before sticking him in the loan zone.

Think the bigger issue is that not many of those would be moving on a permanent given they’re on PL wages.

So without getting some money in I doubt we have much headroom to spend, given summer outlay.

Loan market is a possibility of course but looks like we need a 25-30m CB atm, not sure how many of those are available in the loan market.

I didn't realise they were all living with you Keno. What does Mrs. Keno think about feeding that lot?

Why? 13 teams have scored less than us this season. Seems to me one of the least important areas to strengthen.

I think there is a reasonable argument that 'going forward' isn't our biggest challenge right now.

As I posted the other day. For whatever reason, GON hasn't quite sorted the defence out yet, which I would suggest is our larger concern right now.

Another striker won't hurt but we are heading down the realms of being Royle'esq in that our approach will be "we'll score one more than you.".

Feel like Jaden could end up in the Champ. 3 Midlands clubs chasing promotion, two with deep pockets, sure a £15m-£20m offer could end up on table.

Don't understand why we would take it. He is clearly one of the first choices in the team, and we'd have to spend a similar amount just to replace him.

Not sure we'll see Furlong move out, either. We need a dependable backup and he is just that, and he's probably happy to be here.

I doubt we'll see many of those leave.

For one thing I wouldn't have thought Town will be signing more than one or two players in January. On the basis of funding (not that the club is skint, but there is a limit to how much we are allowed to spend in one season), given the difficulty of finding and attracting the right players (upgrades are desireable, but not always obtainable) and wishing to avoid squad disruption by too much turnover.

Secondly, we will have an FA Cup squad to fill.

Only four teams have more goals, all of them in the top six.

What about Plan B?
We get relegated and it would be handy to have some of those players next year.

West Ham too, did they spend the Summerville money?

A £20m fee would gives us £60m to spend I think if I've broadly understood the new rules correctly (which is unlikely).

I think a good European CB and a GK in the mould of the Hull chap would give us a really really strong chance of staying up.

As others have said, goals clearly aren't the problem but we can't keep needing to score 2-3 goals to win a game.

Moving them out might be easier said than done in some instances, certainly in a way that makes financial sense.

Palmer, Furlong, Kipre and Taylor still have another season after this one if I'm not mistaken.

Nunez, McAteer and Mehmeti run until 2029.

Can't see them being in a hurry to walk away from a Premier League wage, and don't blame them either. There might be some loan deals or some perm structured in a way where we bridge the gap a bit if they're offered 2.5 years elsewhere vs. the 1.5 they have here. I think its more likely a few of them move on in the summer once they enter their final year.

Fair point on Philogene, I do wonder though after recent performances whether GON will still consider this if a decent offer comes in.

We were linked with that Bodo RB a month or so ago so sounds like Furlong could be off. Shame, I did hope he’d get a shot after such solid work in Champ.

He is surely worth more than that. I can’t see him going for a champ move

Might reconsider after no one coming in over the summer for him.

Feels like a large asset to have sat, potentially, playing a bit part role with Clarke and Maeda filling the same position.

Think it depends which club. West Ham probably has some appeal, especially if he drops out of the starting line up with us over the next 2 months and they're in the top 3 or 4. Would be a good signing for them, he's proven himself at that level a few times now and for £20m + add ons or something they're not likely to lose much money on him. If he plays his part in getting them back up that would be a good investment. Bigger question is whether we would sanction it I think, the face he's started the last 2 suggests GON likes something about him.

West Ham have got their own Norwegian youngster on the left though and they seem to rate him quite highly. Well they did a few weeks ago, they're quite a fickle bunch though so he'll probably be getting booed when he dares to misplace a pass.

+6 votes by Ipswich Town fans saying we don't need a striker in January is in equal measures worrying and very funny.

Of course we do!

We have two Emmerson who has never played in the PL before and Flemming who is a championship striker with one season behind him in the PL with relegated Burnley.

I don't personally, but GON clearly does. He has started 3 of the last 4, and the one he didn't start was City when we played a formation that wouldn't have worked for him. He is clearly first choice now, ahead of both Clarke and Maeda.

My mistake, was Prem to Prem. Agree though, he’s not pushed on probably as much as was expected.
