Going by the article, Garner may well have been the number 9 and chose differently. Wouldn't hang my hat on a big marquee no. 9 signing, although it would be a surprise if there wasn't 1 more striker coming in at some point. |  |

I know, my point is that Garner may well have been offered the number 9 (or the club at least had it in mind for him), so in all but number he will be our 'number 9', and thus people shouldn't get too excited about it being left vacant in preparation for a big signing to come in and claim it.
