The Rommy Report 18:04 - Nov 25 with 9489 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

This ain't gonna be very long. There's not much to say other than that was dull. A really boring game of football decided by two ridiculous mistakes from the worst defender Town have had since Balkenstein. The bloke is a liability. I said in my Barnsley away match report just two games into the season that he has absolutely no positional sense. He used his pace that day to get out of jail. Today, up against the speed of Adomah, he couldn't do that. So instead it was just 70 minutes of watching him act like a headless chicken before eventually pulling his hamstring. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our first 11 ever again.

As for the rest, meh. Skuse tried but offered nothing coming forward. Same with Ward. Sears was utterly useless again. Garner gave his all but was isolated even when he won headers. Waghorn was quite clearly being man marked which was tough and Connolly was outmuscled.

Webster was the best player in a Town shirt by a country mile. A really good performance. Celina offered nothing (though that's hardly his fault as it was punted over his head most of the time) when he was brought on. Huws and Bish at least got on the ball a bit.

But the issue is that we never at any stage today tried to get the ball on the floor. It was aimless punt and boring dull percentages football all game. We never had a shot that troubled the keeper and was always being comfortably held at bay.

Villa were good. Not as good as Fulham or Bristol City were against us, but good. They will be top 6 without a doubt. Their fans have them a really good backing too to be fair.

The hotdog was alright. A solid 7.

Went for a couple of pints with Bloots and his wife before the game and so could charge my phone (cheers again for that) which was probably the highlight of the day. Two really nice people. We did see someone be given CPR at BNS station which looked bad - not that I was looking particularly though. Saw Steve before the game in the concourse. Iorfa playing was my instant dissapintment. Sadly I was proven right.

Now for a long journey home whilst some c**t keeps pulling the emergency stop on my train to Birmingham new street. The 10 minute journey has taken 25 so far.

Perhaps the fact that I haven't slept for 35 hours and counting has added to it but it really has been a bit of a letdown for an away day. Just a drab performance from start to finish.

The only thing I believe right now is that I just want to go home. Back to sh1tty Romford. Because it's still home.

Good stuff Rommy, I bet it was bloody cold too, with feck all to sing about, I salute you for going, once more...

Did you have a bet on the big race today? Oh I want to tell you that at long last my own acca came in, not had a win in two seasons so massive ha....mind you Hull were two up to Brizzle and screwed the coral's slip up and chucked it, picture me fetching it back out the bin when Brizzle go 2-3 up, scenes haha...only £72, but from £2.50 not bad...

Had Watford(knew they'd win there), Fulham, Brizzle C, Wolves, Sutton...

Have safe journey back, ashes later, need to target them 380+ imo..

Fair play to ya - Wins a win. No footy bet for me today other than the normal 20p acca and TWTD acca.

Think we are still in the game just about. May go a sleep and get up for the second session since I watch the entire cricket yesterday without sleep and am knackered now

Cheers for the report Rommy. Sometimes the life of a football fan is about endurance as much as anything else. Anyway, get you on home safe .

I'd recorded it and had avoided the results!!!!

At least I won. Also backed BDM at 33s for the gold cup.

Don't tell me any of the other results though please as I had a bet in a few races today.

Sorry bud. Assuming that was you with Steve, I hadn't heard him say it was you.

You was the one with the cap on I assume. You're well young! I thought you were like 40.

Pleasure to meet you now I know. Ha

There has been countless times you've written 'that was dreadful' across various reports over a season or so... telling that even a positive fan is saying it.

(Even £10m spent wouldn't change how MM sets them up, so not all MEs fault now?)

Well I might be a lot of bings Texters - positive, over enthusiastic, glass half full but I am also honest.

£10m would make a major difference though I'd say

Na, just more expensive workhorses.

Be 8 points off 6th Tuesday night. Season done IMO, get ride at Xmas and give new guy time to work with his team, before we have ANOTHER wasted/building season

I was travelling back home when the scores were coming through on 5live and they said "it was a comfortable win" and "Ipswich had no shots on target the whole game". That was enough of a report for me. I can fill in the rest.

Its a shame cos there were promising signs in midweek. The fact we can't get results against the "good" team, I.e. the top half, just leads me to think we are going to end up mid-table. Surely not 15th again.

Not at all... I was quietly satisfied/ happy with the first 93 minutes of Wednesday night, the second half vs PNE as well.

But there’s been little to get excited about for a few months now.
