The NHS volunteer thing.... on 11:03 - Apr 13 with 1516 views | GlasgowBlue | Nope. Applied last Monday and got an email back saying they’d be in touch but the need for volunteers was low in my area. Edit. Scotland is devolved. [Post edited 13 Apr 2020 11:04]

I do hope that it wasn't essentially just a PR exercise.

The NHS volunteer thing.... on 13:05 - Apr 13 with 1444 views | hampstead_blue | Am registered but have not yet made myself available. Not had time! Next week I'll lean in. Loads of old people round here so I imagine lots to do.
| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

The NHS volunteer thing.... on 16:02 - Apr 13 with 1379 views | Bent_double | Yes, I had my first call yesterday afternoon. I was out in the garden, heard this siren go off, thinking, "what the .... was that!", then guessed it must be the GoodSam app on my phone. Accepted the job, but there wasn't anything to do, called the guy and he just wanted a chat and to take my contact details incase he needed me to do something - I can't/won't go into details but he is self-isolating due to medical conditions. Anyway, he's got my details now, so can contact me when he needs help.

It is good to hear that something has come of it.

The NHS volunteer thing.... on 17:03 - Apr 13 with 1320 views | bluelagos | When I looked there were loads of registered bods near me. Sticking to helping with the local support group organising and doing food shops for those self isolating. THe bit that I thought was poor was the DBS thing. I am cleared (have a code) but don't have a certificate. It asked you to upload your certificate which is nonsense - you give an employer your code so they can check. Meant I registered without the clearance, which I have.

Got a form today asking what my volunteering preferences would be. So hopefully things will move quickly.

My Daughter works for the NHS, so I was accepted there and then. There are at least 4 other volunteers at Ipswich General. They are doing non medical stuff, obviously, but they are there to release those with medical knowledge to help in other departments.

Exactly the same. Been 'on duty' for about 3 weeks or so in my spare time. Over 100 hours and no alerts yet.
