You mentioned this ex-player the other day.

As we are probably the only club in the country to have a Nobel Laureate amongst our former players, I hope the club are making something of this.

At the very least a replica of his Nobel Medal in the trophy room.

And clearly worth including on the honours board.

And a statue wouldn't be out of order either.

I'll leave it to you to take up with the appropriate people.

Sounds like something Norwich would do to fill the Trophy room..

Presume they would have done an open top penny farthing if so.

Hard to make a song from it though, what rhymes with Nobel Laureate?

He lived at Highwood Manor, a few doors along from Sir Bobby (not at the same time)

This is shaping up to be even crueller than 'He's fat, he's round, he scores at every ground'

The Sherringtons were instrumental in the formation of the club. Our early games were played at Ipswich School and at Broomhill Park (probably where the lido is) on land owned by the Sherringtons. I spent a happy afternoon trudging around there trying to work out where you could fit a football pitch!

There's a good interpretation board up at Broomhill.

In those early years, Ipswich Football Club were playing at Portman Road, but that was the rugby club...

You don't want to go down that honours rabbit hole. Apparently dozens of budgies have participated in medical trials, some significant, it might be enough to fill their trophy cabinet.

One of the houses at Ipswich School is named after Sherrington.
