One thing really intrigues me: What do these people who think of organisations like Black Lives Matter, or the UK Labour Party as "far left" actually consider as the tenets and basis of their own political position? What is the way they want the world to be?
Are they really incredibly right wing (and what does that even mean?), or is it essentially a meaningless label for "stuff I don't like the sound of"?
Do they merely dislike anything which doesn't chime with the imagined Britain of their childhoods or their parents' time?

People are just borrowing phrases nowadays, repeating back what they hear thinking it means something.
There was a time when you really could tell someone who literally 'believed everything they read in the 'papers'.
Now you get those types project it back to you thinking they're onto something.
The loud American woman in the shop a few days ago telling anyone who'd would listen, (and those who had better things to do), that "the virus isn't real, is made up and no one is dying from it". I disagreed and she went immediately into the "You listen too much to mainstream media" routine.
That was the very first thing she came out with.
They think you are the brainwashed one and it's weird.

I have a mate who is right wing and thinks Tommy Robinson is great
He explained to me that he gets offended by over equality with things like positive discrimination and political correctness
He feels it's gone too much the other way and that's obviously the left's fault, not that we have had a left wing government for a long time
Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Yep, many have just been weaponised with slogans and 'theories'. Which happens at politician's level (the ERG group and Tory/UKIP Brexiteer politicians and their spin doctors); at media and social media level, your Hartley Brewers, Yaxley-Lennons, etc.; and finally in the community through rote spreading of the slogans and arguments by themselves and other people just them like them.
Same in your example for conspiracy theories (the venn diagram of which overlaps significantly with alt-right/racist groups).
Or in short, they're useful idiots.
On the conspiracy theory angle, there's a pretty interesting experiment here. He says he's going to infiltrate right wing groups in his next video, but I'm not sure if that's out yet.

That was an entertaining 10 minutes well spent, ta.
Dodgily funded, gaming chair using when videoing "important updates to the nation" Dazza Grimes has waded in now. Of course.
Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

I just don't know what's going on with this world anymore.
Does CV-19 make you stupid? Is the film Idiocracy coming true?
Many years of educational policy concentrating on exam results and league tables rather than well-rounded teaching coming home to roost.
My mother commented the other day that my late father (25 years a Deputy Head and an O-Level/GCSE examiner) would hate how the system currently works. Pupils being excluded because they were unlikely to get top grades would be an anathema to him.
People are mostly not thick, just haven't been taught how to analyse and parse information in a world where we are awash with it. That's not to blame teachers, who are working with limited time and resources within a curriculum, structure and contrivedly competitive environment imposed from above.
What I found scary about Laura reading her twitter last night was how she appears to have half a brain. Not that I agree with her of course, but she's not the normal dribbly loon.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Never heard of this guy before but his recent tweet made me laugh!
Blooming businesses becoming increasingly aware of the injustices in the world! We must resist!!!
This is him in a nutshell. Seems to be morphing into a professional contraire, always popping up to whip up the free market/Brexiteer/racist following.
He was Matthew Elliott's and Vote Leave's lapdog & Useful Idiot. He ran BeLeave, which coordinated campaigning with Vote Leave drawing the attention of the Electoral Commission. There was a big hooha with an initial fine and then appeals and he was referred to the police for criminal proceedings. I don't think that went anywhere in the end and charges were dropped and he won his appeal against the Electoral Commission. Dodgy as feck though.
