Interesting quote from Red Bull owner of Leipzig and Salzburg 17:43 - Jun 30 with 2786 views | hype313 | "The difference between us and other clubs is that when we sign or scout new players, we are fishing in a very small pond. We are only interested in players aged between 17 and 23, as from our experience, when you are 23 you are no longer a talent" Got me thinking about the amount of players that have been talked about in glowing terms of being future gems despite being 22/23, in particular you look at Andre and essentially he is one season away from no longer being regarded as a talent. Appreciate he hasn't had the most settled few years, but neither have Downes and Wolf, and both of those have had spells elsewhere, I wonder if we will rue not sending Andre out on loan.

Interesting quote from Red Bull owner of Leipzig and Salzburg on 17:53 - Jun 30 with 2725 views | Swansea_Blue | This won't go down well, but I don't think Andre will ever make it. He's had so many chances, I'm not even sure he'll tie down the rest of his career at this level. He's certainly a talent, but it takes more than simply being skillful and aware, otherwise there'd be hundreds of seasoned pro cloggers who wouldn't have stayed in the game. Flynn any day of the week for me. And if we can still get a bid for Andre I'd snap anyone's hand off. [Post edited 30 Jun 2020 17:53]

Could you explain the “he’s had so many chances”? He’s barely been given a run in the side for any length of time. We should be trying to build a side around him.

Seen Andre earlier, didn’t quite realise his physique. Would be easy to bully on a pitch physically, I think that’s fair to say.

He's rarely been given more than two games in a row. Generally he's one of those that comes in when there are wholesale changes. I think next season needs to see he and the likes of Dobra, El Mizouni, Lankester getting extended runs and a lot of minutes.

Why do you think he only gets two games in a row? If he was hugely effective then he would clearly get more. I don't understand your line of argument at all. He's got quality but that is different from being an effective player. Doesn't mean he won't make it, just that things are on merit. Not sure why you've put Lankester in with the others, he was already in the first 11 and will be pretty quickly again if fit. SB

Because our manager is clueless.

Interesting quote from Red Bull owner of Leipzig and Salzburg on 20:20 - Jun 30 with 2332 views | lightuser | Hmm...I think that the Red Bull owner should keep his gob shut...until he sends his c*nty son back to Thailand to face the dui charges for killing a motorbike cop at 177kmh. Ps.. It would be nice too, if our owner returned to Brazil to answer a few questions regarding ticket sales during the last Olyimpics.

Interesting quote from Red Bull owner of Leipzig and Salzburg on 20:43 - Jun 30 with 2279 views | Ftnfwest | I think you’re right, trouble is he was never introduced gradually as a sub that often in the same way Ferguson did with giggs for instance. He was usually thrown in from the start after a bad run and when he instantly didn’t produce the goods was ostracised for another 10 games.

Totally agree, which is why I find it strange the club didn't send him out on loan, a season with Swindon like wolfy would have done wonders for him imo, I feel like he's missed a season or so of education.

He missed a year with a serious injury. That is the major reason why his career hasn't taken the road it should have. He needs a team built around him, just like his father. It wasn't until John Lyall came to Town that Jason really stepped it up and became our main man.

You can't build a team around a lad who hasn't turned up to the last 30 games.

I wouldn't bank on it with Lankester. Re Dozzell - it's a bit chicken and egg. Some players more than others need a bit of faith shown in them and a proper run in the side to get going. It's not easy to come in from the cold, often as one of several changes and to shine.

The other problem we have or have had is that due the precarious nature of our league standing over the past few years, players like Andre who can offer a piece of magic but go missing for large spells are a luxury which successive managers have steered clear off. Magic had that in his game, but also had Holland next to him which helped hugely, no disrespect to Skuse, but throwing in Andre is a massive gamble, which is why I suggested before, he needed a loan somewhere

Lambert jizzed away the second half of the 18/19 season. We were relegated. It was a prime opportunity to properly build for 19/20 and we didn't learn anything. The likes of Judge, Huws, Nolan offered no more than Dozzell last season in all honesty.
