Lambert was lined up to be Burnley's new manager 19:08 - Sep 1 with 1271 viewsWoolfenthen

was lined-up to take the Burnley job when Cotterill was sacked but turned out he wasn't interested - despite what he said at the time - used the whole episode to get an improved contract out of Norwich - always seems like he's got his eye on his next payday and is engineering his departure

If Lambert genuinely thinks he's getting *another* pay day after his failures here then he's even more useless than I thought. He's never going to work as a manager again after us. We are, Mick aside, a manager's graveyard right now.

There was a Col U fan on earlier who said Lambert only really cares about Lambert. Hard to disagree with that really. I bet he votes Tory.

So, his FINAL payday, rather than his next one?

Are there many managers that don’t think about themselves first? I get the “back to manage my boyhood club” thing, but apart from that?? I would have thought most managers have “I” and “my” in there decision making process, I.e. how can I make a difference, how will it effect my family, how will it improve my pension, how long can I last etc etc. But if he did vote Tory, then he can Fvck off!!

I think there's a difference between keeping yourself in mind and only really caring about yourself. I don't get the sense Lambert has any loyalty at all, to players or the club he's managing. He'll go where the money and prestige is. It's how we wangled the contract here, by making eyes at Sunderland when we were top and they needed a manager. Wish we'd just let him go to be honest.

True enough.Lambert himself was stupid enough to employ Roy Keane.

Now, if that's not reason on it's own to think that he doesn't know what he's doing...

Apparently he did a really good job as Lightbringer in Heaven several thousand years ago. We should give him 10 more games in charge of Hell before we judge.
